When I was six year's old my mother went on vacation with my aunt and my aunt's husband. So for a couple of weeks I stayed home with my Dad and sisters and brother.
My Aunt and My Mother came back from their vacation without my uncle. I was to young to understand what was going on or what had already happened at the time.
A few years later, my mother had recovered from her vacation experience and she told me that when she was at the hotel that she was renting, a few men broke in and they carried huge guns with them.
My mother heard them searching the house and every had already left and she was the only one in the room and she had no way out, so she hide under a bed. When they got to the room that she was in and searched every place, she saw one of the men with a flashlight look under the same bed that she was under.
She said it was like she was invisible to them, she heard them leave the house and the door shut with a loud thud.
She got up from under the bed in tears looking for my Aunt.
Aunt's part of the story
I remember my Aunt telling me that she was threaten by the men and she stood by her husbands side.
She told me that since nor her or her husband had anything they wanted they took his life right in front of her.
The when the men left to search the hotel for anymore people, they left her in the room by herself with her dead husband. When they were going to be done searching the house my Aubt knew they would kill her next so she ran out and hide in some bushes.
They had my uncles funeral at the same vacation spot with all his family memeber's that they came to visit.
I am always grateful for having my mother and my aunt, because I was very close to losing bothof them.
Survive Mary Mary
Hoo woo, hoo woo
Anyday now, it's what I kept telling myself
On the last mile, on the road to somewhere
But along the way I (got stopped by)
All the wind and the rain and
To my surprise
And it shook my heart
Blew my mind
I've had to cry so many nights
I've had to hold on for my life
But all I can say now is that I survived
[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now
Now hurt and pain were sometimes my company
Separated from those, then I suppose
I didn't have no guarantees
But one thing, I knew for sure was
I've had my share of ups and downs
I made it even though
Oh, it shook my heart
Blew my mind
I've had to cry so many nights
I've had to hold on for my life
But all I can say now is that I survived
[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now
I know you heard this message before
I wanna tell you once more
It's alright
I know the road your on might seem long
But I encourage you to hold on, hold on
You will survive
I do believe you will
But all I can say now is that I survived
[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now
When the weight of the world's
All on your shoulder
Just remember, remember, remember
To keep your head up and survive
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now
[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now
