Night,
Sleek and beautiful
Shining stars twinkling above the earth
Wrapped by a thick pelt of shadow
Warm and comforting
Blanketing all in its powerful form
Lips kissing the ground
Lowering itself slowly
To obscure the grass
Moving across the meadow
Night, let me ride you to dawn
Dawn,
Pelt kisses by the golden sun
Tall and cool rising up from the shadows of the trees
Slowly taking its time to chase away the Night.
Lingering side by side as two close friends do.
Breathing an easy sigh, letting the wind blow across rippling seas of green.
Illuminating the colors of the world underneath it's gaze.
Dawn, calls out softly to day.
Day,
Stationed at the peak of the hill waiting for the unsuspecting earth to realize it has come
Bright and fiery tears across the meadow
Heat and light and vibrancy
Dawn passes to day in the blink of one of its shining eyes
Full and languid it peruses at its leisure
Seeking out company and basking in its warmth
Whispers of adventure thundering across the moor
Ambition is plenty yet slowly dusk sneaks up on it
Dusk,
How swiftly it comes with no regard for what day planned
The sunset is but a blink in its fiery eyes
Tearing across the sky
There is no time at dusk
It is now already again Night.
