<Taylor's P.O.V>

The cool breeze of the mid August night hit my flushed, warm cheeks as I struggled to stand up. Walking up the large steps to my front door, I pleaded one more time.

"Y-you know, you really don't have to do this." I stumbled, almost causing both Liz Forbes and I to fall. "I can go sleep it off at Caroline's. No one will have to know."

She lets out a frustrated sigh, holding on to my arm for support so I don't almost fall over again. "You know Caroline's house is also my house- the sheriffs. You're lucky I'm not taking you down to the station, Taylor."

I roll my eyes as she makes three loud knocks on the front door of our large estate. I feel a lump in my throat but quickly push it back down as the door opens wide revealing, Richard Lockwood with his wife, Carole Lockwood closely behind. They are both dressed in their pajamas and their eyes are slightly still red and half open as they were just woken up from their slumber.

"Sheriff Forbes..." He trails off noticing my leaning body, large brown eyes looking into his, struggling to stand even though nothing is going on around us. "Oh no." He puts his face in his hand.

"Hi, daddy." I flash a fake smile brushing a stand of my dark hair out of my eyes.

"One of my overnight deputies caught her and some others underage drinking by the falls...again" Sheriff Forbes states letting go of my arm, allowing me to stumble inside.

"Oh my gosh." Carole, also known as my mother, quietly sighs.

"I'm sorry, Sheriff. It won't happen again." My father tells her, but I can see a twinge of doubt in both of their eyes.

"I hope not. I don't know how many times I can keep letting her go before having to book her." She replies, and for a second I see a spark of anger flash in my fathers eyes knowing that me going to jail would definitely put a damper on the Lockwood reputation and will hurt him as mayor of this town.

"Noted." He flashes a fake smile. "I will see it be taken care of. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Liz." My mother adds before exchanging mutual nods and sending Forbes on her way. She turns to me with disappointment in her eyes. "What were you thinking, Taylor?"

I don't respond, glancing at the grandfather clock in the large entrance of our house. It is four a.m.

"She wasn't thinking. That's her problem." My father responds with anger and disgust in his voice. "She never thinks."

My parents and I do not have the best relationship. My father being the mayor means that a lot of eyes were on us all the time, making my twin brother, Tyler, and I poster children for this town. Ever since I was little, we always had to show up at every Founder's event, every charity event, every time a celebration or memorial occurred, and for a town as small as Mystic Falls, it was unreal how many times that actually was per year. I guess that is what happens when you grow up in a small community, you have to do everything you can to preserve it.

I know my parents, my mom especially, expected me to grow up being a princess of this town - a pure perfection that can do no wrong. I don't really remember at what point I wanted that to change, but a princess I was not. I was the complete opposite. That "bad girl" as one would call it. I broke the law, I was destructive, and whenever someone told me to do something, I went out of my way to do the complete opposite.

I turn on my heel causing my long, curly hair to bounce off my face and nearly causing me to fall on my face. My mother catches me for support.

"That's it. Get cleaned up and get to bed. We will talk about this in the morning before you go to school." She sent me on my way up the stairs. I run into my twin brother, Tyler, who was trying not to laugh.
