<Taylor's POV>
"He did what?" I shriek at Elena who just informed me that Damon killed Lexi Friday night while Sam and I were on our date. It was officially Monday and we were walking to our classes before the school bell rang.
"Yeah." She sighed angrily. "Stefan was so angry. He said Damon needed to die. I tried to stop him. Not for Damon's sake, but for Stefan's. I don't know what that would do to him. Anyway, he ran off and I haven't seen or heard from him since."
"Why would Damon kill Lexi?" I question, my mind trailing off as to why he would do such a thing.
"Because he's evil, Taylor." Elena spat. "He doesn't care about anything or anyone."
"Don't you just wish we could go back to our normal lives before we found out about all this supernatural stuff?" I say defeated.
"Everyday." Elena watched as Caroline skipped over to us.
"Ugh, hello." She says grumpily. "I'm so glad to see you guys and not have Bonnie around." She spat.
I furrowed my brows in confusion. "You and Bonnie are still fighting over that stupid necklace? Caroline, I told you stop doing Damon's dirty work."
"You're still talking to Damon?" Elena questions worriedly.
Caroline sighs. "Yes and no." She huffs. "I don't know. All I know is he wants it back and he wasn't very nice about it at my party." She trails off remembering all the things he called her.
"Well, I told you how I feel about it so I'm staying out it." I raise my hands up in defense and Elena agrees with me.
We walk into history. It hasn't been the same since Mr. Tanner died. They've brought in sub after sub but it was really hard to get into the lesson when they didn't want to be there themselves. I see Matt and Tyler in the back as I sit next to Elena. An empty seat sat next to her where Stefan would normally sit but he wasn't here. Bonnie comes in seeming like she was frantic just as the bell rings and takes the open spot next to Elena.
"Good morning, everyone." A new voice walked into the room. He wasn't one of our normal subs so I'm guessing they found a new person to officially take over Mr. Tanner's spot. He looked in his 30's sporting short brown hair and clean, shaven face.
"Alrighty." He trails off, picking up a piece of chalk and writing on the board. In big letters, he wrote 'ALARIC SALTZMAN'.
"Alaric Saltzman." He says, turning around and clasping his hands. "I know it's a mouthful. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is Germanic." He looked around the room and started to try and piece together the teenage faces he'd be teaching the rest of the school year. "A little about me. My family immigrated here in 1755 to Texas, but I was born and raised in Boston. Now the name 'Alaric' belongs to a very dead great-grandfather whom I will never be able to thank enough." He says sarcastically causing me to snicker and earn him a few other laughs. He had a sense of humor. "You'll probably want to pronounce is 'Ala-ric' but it's 'A-Lar-Ic', okay?" He looks around at the gazing faces realizing that no one is probably listening to a word he is saying. Everyone is looking pretty dead on this Monday morning. "How about you all just call me, Rick?" He smiles again. I can tell he's happy to be here. "I'm your new history teacher."
