Everything felt warm. Warm looks and warm feelings. Abe didn't know what to think of his new emotions. Everything else is so cold and damp feeling, like getting out of a hot shower. Jon was his warmth; his comfort. He felt like more than a friend. Jon waved his hands in front of abe's face, snapping him back into reality. Jon flashed his smile and abe got hot again, he was flustered. Jon said, "You cant live in your head, you know." Abe was quick to rebuttal with, "At least its better than reality."
Abe let out a sigh as they watched their teacher pace around the front of their classroom, rambling about god knows what. Abe craned his neck to look towards Jon. He wasn't looking at him, but he could feel his eyes burning his chest. Jon shot a glance at abe, not knowing what he was doing to him.
As soon as Abe was getting lost in Jon's gaze, his friend Kaleb slapped the back of Abe's neck. Abe quickly recognized the burning sensation of the slap. Kaleb howled with laughter. Their teacher shot a fierce look at the boys, since this was their normal behavior. Jon huffed at Kaleb's actions and placed his rather cold hand on abe's neck in comfort. Abe's body was scorching at the action, feeling thrilled by the touch. Just as fast as he put his hand there, he took it away and let out a slight chuckle. Abe felt himself melt.
Kaleb pushed his chair back, forcing it to rely on its back legs. Fortunately for everyone, the bell rang, dismissing everyone from the hellish room. But unfortunately for kaleb, it scared him enough that he flinched, throwing his balance off. He fell back and his chair hit the tiles with a thud. Abe laughed uncontrollably at the sight. From behind him he heard a loud, bellowing laugh. He knew who's it was and his laughter halted. He felt hot, but not from the heat of the classroom. Abe smiled at the sound, but his moment was cut short when Kaleb shoved him over, pushing him backwards. Abe tried keeping his balance, but he was unsuccessful in his attempt. He felt two familiar hands placed on his sides. As much as those hands wanted to catch him, they slipped. Abe's head hit the floor, causing him to slip into immediate darkness, but it felt like a blink of an eye. He groaned and opened his eyes, rubbing them in disbelief. He was taken aback by the sight of Jon over him, his face lighting up at the fact that his friend was alright. Abe was quick to notice that they weren't in the classroom, but instead in the cold, crisp nurse's office. He tried lifting his head but Jon gently pushed it back down, putting an ice pack on the top of his head. Abe asked, "What's up with the ice?" Jon shook his head, he began to talk but Abe couldn't focus. He was speaking in a worried tone, but that was all he took away from it. Abe reached up for Jon's face and placed his hand on his cheek without thinking. His body immediately felt like it was on fire and his heart was sent into orbit. He rubbed his thumb on Jon's cool face, making his hand chilly from the contact. He managed to mutter out, "thanks." Jon's face cracked a little as he smiled. Abe took in the sight, admiring his charismatic grin.
Abe moved his hand down Jon's jaw and brought it closer to himself. He hesitated. His heart was beating out of his chest. He kissed Jon's cheek, not wanting to make him super uncomfortable. For once Jon lost his cool, his face turning a shade of crimson. He smiled, and placed his hand on the crook of Abe's neck and in turn, Abe brought their lips together in a kiss. Abe paused after bringing himself back. A loud, booming voice echoed as it entered the room, causing both boys to flinch in response. The only noise Abe had been paying attention to was the rattling A/C that kept the room frigid. He quickly recognized it as Kaleb's voice, causing his face to take up a stern look.
Kaleb's forehead came into Abe's sight, his dark hair poking in. He pushed his glasses up and stepped into the icy room, his shoe squeaking when he halted. Abe knew what he was about to do, and he hated it.
