"No more teachers..."
"No more homework..."
"No more stressing out over every little thing..."
"Ah, summer." All seven girls leaned back in their lawn chairs, soaking up the rays of the sweet summer sun.
"This is perfect," Nia sighed, looking around at her friends. "I mean, when was the last time we all just hung out and did absolutely nothing?"
"Um... that was... NEVER." Maddie laughed, placing her hands behind her head. "We were always dancing, or going to meet-and-greets..."
"Or running errands for Abby..." Kendall grumbled as she rolled her eyes.
"Ugh, don't even mention her. I'm trying to enjoy myself." Brooke said .
"Same here." Mackenzie agreed.
"Hey, where are the guys? If they don't hurry, we're gonna miss the movie." Chloe asked, checking her watch.
"No clue. I told them to be here at three." Paige replied.
As if on cue, the seven boys rushed into the yard, waving water guns like madmen. Screams erupted from every direction as the girls ran for cover.
Nia and Brooke grabbed the patio umbrella and used it to protect themselves from the blasts of water. Maddie and Paige dived into the bushes while Chloe and Mackenzie ducked under the porch. Kendall tried to join Maddie and Paige in their hiding spot, but she wasn't fast enough. The boys caught up to her in a split second and drenched her from head to toe.
Kendall shrieked as her hair began to frizz, making her look as if she'd been electrocuted. The sight of their friend's puffy hair and the boys doing their "victory dance" (which really just consisted of them trying to twerk) was too much to handle. The laughter started gradually, first with Nia and Brooke, then with Chloe and Mackenzie, and finally, all of the girls were laughing hysterically. Even Kendall managed to laugh.
Boys did that to you. They always made you laugh, even when you didn't want to.
After everyone had calmed down, Josh casually said, "So, are you guys ready for the movie?", as if he hadn't just taken part in drenching Kendall.
"Obviously not, Josh." Kendall hissed, shaking her wet hair in his face.
"Oh, calm down, Bride of Frankenstein. You can borrow this," He laughed, placing his baseball cap on her head. She blushed a little as he did it, but quickly scolded herself. He was Maddie's boyfriend, she shouldn't be feeling that way about him. But when he playfully tugged at her hair, the blush started all over again.
Luckily, nobody seemed to notice. They were all too busy cracking up about the whole "Bride Of Frankenstein" thing. She was grateful when Chloe finally took her into the house to get dry clothes. She needed to get away from Josh before she did something totally idiotic. Chloe allowed her to look through her closet while she got a bag for her to put her wet clothes in. Kendall grabbed Chloe's black "You Can't Sit With Us" crop top and a pair of acid washed shorts.
She joined Chloe downstairs and put her soaked clothes in the Mariano's bag her friend provided. The two girls walked outside to their friends. The laughing teenagers walked down to the theater, talking and joking the whole way.
