Humming Beauty

The tight prison broke apart,
And her small head poked out.
She breathed the glistening colours around,
Her mind slightly filled with doubt.

She stepped out completely,
Skipped towards a nearby lake.
She looked down at herself,
Uncertain, if this was all fake.

The lacy rainbow dress she wore,
The hem lined with black.
Taking herself in, she danced away,
Stopping only to grab a snack.

She loved the scent of fresh blossoms,
Her touch was gentle as a fawn.
Humming her own tune she sang,
And pranced about the trees till dawn.

She softly tugged at the petals,
No harm does she ever bring.
Zipped away along the breeze,
She sweetly sung of the spring.

She spread her wings far and wide,
And I saw her flutter in the sky.
Past all other flowers, on a single rose,
Taking a leap of faith, was a colorful butterfly.
