KENI BARELY REMEMBERED HOW HAPPY SHE WAS BEFORE HER FIRST DIAGNOSIS. She wasn't always a so-called bitch.

From the day of her birth and through her sixth year of life, Keni was so happy.

She and her brother were quite a set of troublesome twins.

They would run around all day wreaking havoc on the Kyotani home and never leave each other's sight.

Keni and Kentaro were best friends from the start. They were biologically siblings, yes, but they were automatically best friends with each other once they could actually process things.

Often times their mother would walk into the living room to find them asleep on the ground by the television. However, her heart would dance to see her two kids cuddled up together happily.

But just before the Kyotani twins turned seven, the world seemed to turn upside down.

Keni was admitted into the hospital with cancer. Blood cancer. The life was slowly draining out of her.

The first time the Kyotani parents tried to explain to their kids what was happening, they did not care. Keni said "I feel fine!" and they continued on playing.

Until she was bound to the bed by a needle being stuck in her arm.

It took one hell of a toll on her. Keni became tired all the time, she wouldn't leave the bed.

Kentaro was plain confused. He was going to school without her, but he was still trying to process what was wrong with his sister.

Every day after school he would walk to the hospital and sit down with his sister to talk about the day.

Their mother once arrived at the hospital to see Keni asleep on her brother's right shoulder. Kentaro must've been tired from his school day and his sister was always tired.

So they were just casually having a nap in Keni's hospital bed.

She knew that Kentaro didn't like being without his sister. They had been each other's support system since they were born and had been by each other's side for as long as they had been alive.

Keni's first weeks in the hospital was just the beginning of a giant storm.
