KIKIOPE
🎶Oya Totori mi one time toh
Totori mi two times toh toh!
Totori mi three times toh toh toh!"What's making you happy? I've been hearing your voice from my place," Khalid asked immediately he walked into my house.
"Totori mi four times toh toh toh toh," I replied while tickling him.
"Leave me jare," he pushed my hands away and I smiled.
"Hmm, see the way your body is charged, hmmm," I wriggled my brows, and he smiled before sitting on the love seat while I dropped the TV remote I'd been using earlier on the centre table before joining him.
"Instead of you to be reading, you're screaming your lungs out," he jested.
"I was doing Karaoke," I corrected him, and he chuckled.
"Karaoke with remote," he snickered and I rolled my eyes before waving my hand.
"I can't kill myself because of one book, I've been trying to pen down my business plan since I woke up this morning and my brain is clogged, so I needed something to clear my brain," I explained, and he chuckled.
"Why won't your brain be clogged when you ate all the food yesterday because of the election result," he chided and I pursed my lips.
"Like you didn't eat out of it too,"I replied, and he chortled. Yesterday after the election result had been announced, we'd gone to the school's cafeteria and had eaten like we won't eat again, most especially that stupid Abee, he almost finished all the wraps of Amala that was being sold, I smiled at the memory.
"But, wait, which one is business plan?" He asked snapping me out of thoughts.
I tucked my legs beneath me before responding, "Is it not that stupid Mr. Nelson, he told us to write a business plan for any business we intend to do under animal husbandry."
He erupted into laughter, "So, you intend to do one business related to Animal husbandry?"
I snapped my hand over my head, "God forbid, but it's compulsory for us to do it so far it's our midterm test, the stupid man even told us to spiral bind it and me I don't even know what to write."
He chuckled, "Look for any business under Animal husbandry na."
I eyed him, "I said I don't even know what to write gan."
"Give it to Sugar Boy then, at least, he's into business."
I furrowed my brows before raising my chin, "And that's true sha, I never knew you had brain oo," I patted his head.
He smiled before pushing my hand away, " You know my brain is intact unlike yours."
I rolled my eyes,"Whatever, ehn, I want to bake hot dog, oya, follow me"
He shrugged, "You and this your baking sha, you know you don't share the money you earn with me."
I scoffed a laugh, "We are doing it together abi," I stood up while he looked away.
"Won't you follow me?"
"I'm not going with you," he deadpanned and I pouted before leaning closer to pull him up but I couldn't.
"You can't pull me up, I'll sha go with you bebe," he snickered before standing up, I eyed him then we both walked into the kitchen.
💢💢💢💢💢💢💢
"Aren't you going to work?" I asked as soon as Sugar Boy plopped on the couch in front of me.
"Today is Saturday," he replied succinctly.
I slapped my hand on my forehead, "Oh, I didn't know sha."
"Guess you're really enjoying the break," he joked and I smiled.
"So, are you done with my business plan?"
"Almost, I'll give you this evening so, you can print it out."
I bobbed my head, "Okay then."
Then he picked up the remote from the centre table and turned to the TV. Seems those stupid NEPAs just realize we stay in GRA 'cause our electricity is now stable.
"Why are you staying in our house when you're rich?" I voiced out the question I'd been meaning to ask for the past few months.
He turned back to look at me, "Nothing."
I scrunched brows, "What do you mean by nothing? You have a nice house bigger than this and you decided to stay here."
He adjusted his sitting position and faced me squarely, "Yeah, I have a nice place but I decided to stay away from there."
I raised my brows," Why?"
"To punish my parents."
I scrunched up my face, "How?"
He cleared his throat, "See, my parents don't support my relationship with your mother, they think she's older than me, and she wouldn't do me any good, my mother later brought one of her friends daughter to start staying in my place without my consent so, I decided to leave the house for her."
I blinked my eyes as I tried to digest what he explained.
"They want you to get married to someone you don't like?" I inquired.
"Yeah, that's why I decided to stay here so, they won't know my whereabouts, main reason I spend most of the time at the branch office here instead of the head office at Abeokuta, I only go there for important meetings," he continued.
I dropped my legs on the floor, "And you think they don't know you're staying here?"
He shrugged, "Maybe, maybe not, but they can't dictate for me, I'm old enough to determine my life."
I sighed, " Till when do you plan to stay here?"
"Till they eventually succumb to me."
I bobbed my head, "Do you plan to get married to my mom?"
He glanced at me, "Of course."
I creased my brows. So, I'll have a second step-father again.
"But with her job, don't you think..." I shrugged.
He smiled, "Can't you see she comes home everyday now, when we get married, she doesn't have to keep on running the bar."
I pursed my lips, "I don't think Mama D can ever stop running the bar for anything."
He shrugged, "Then she doesn't have to keep going there everyday, she can just employ people to run it for her."
I nodded while wondering if my mom would agree to that 'cause her job is her life. Someone that neglected her children and chose her job over us. I don't even know if I should be happy or sad about what Sugar Boy just told me. I sighed in confusion before resting my head on the chair.
