Arriety's POV

I then drifted off to sleep.

°dream°

We were so happy, love and laughter abounded us. We were nearing the Kurta Village, but then we saw

smoke.

Mom and Dad told me and my brother to stay while they try to help the village. Turns out, the village was on fire.

I stared at my brother, worry evident on my face because of the fact that Mom and Dad aren't here yet. To make the situation worse, the fire grew bigger, big enough for me and brother to see, and take note, we're really far from the village.

I looked down, I felt useless. It was like a volcano of emotions we're about to erupt inside of me, my heart hurts, it hurts so bad. I wanted to help them, no, I wanted to protect them. But I'm weak...What would a kid like me do for them?

With my heart and head a mess I did not realize the worried look my brother was giving me. He slightly tapped my shoulder which gained my full attention.

He smiled...

He smiled, as if saying 'everything will be ok', I nodded my head with a smile as a response.

Thank God I have my brother with me...

After our small interaction, Alfius flinched. The smile he was wearing earlier disappeared. He looked kike he wanted to break down, but he was stopping himself from doing so. Of course, it's because of me. It's obvious he didn't want his sister to worry. But he was too late. I am worried.

"Granpa's gone..." He muttered, loudly enough for me to hear. He has actually been using En since Mom and Dad disappeared.

It took me a long time to process what Alfius said.

I can't believe it. Granpa...

I can't believe I couldn't even save Granpa! I wanted to save them, I want to protect them, but here I am, cowering in fear.

No, no, no, HE'S GONE! I CAN'T, I CAN'T!

"I can't hold it anymore. I'm not that strong!!! I'm still a child for goodness sake!! I just want my family! Please! I want them! I need them! I can't, I c-can't..." I was crying, nope, I was broken. Shattered, memories of me and granpa having fun kept flooding.

'Ari dear! How was training? Make us proud my Ari!' was the last thing he said to me. I can remember everything, crystal clear. I can remember that funny smile of his. The cheeky face he makes when grandma scolds him. He honestly was the best granpa.

The tears never stopped, but at some point it has to. I wiped the tears on by face, and raised my head to meet the jewel blue eyes of my brother. He was crying too, he then also wiped the tears he poured and held his hand out for me to grab it.

I took his hand, "Ari your eyes are glowing red." He stated, I just nodded.

I was angry, really angry.
