I had fallen asleep on my homework, my calendar and laptop pushed aside. I peeled my school issued laptop that held all of my homework from my cheek and made my way to the window, Tikki was still asleep, curled up next to where I was.

The window swung open at my small push. I glanced at my clock from where I was, it was somewhere around midnight. It’s officially friday. Three days until the student body meeting.

I studied the stars, trying to lose myself in my thoughts, not the bad ones, just maybe a simple day dream, I just needed an escape right now.

‘Who’s that?’

‘Gah! T?’

‘Yeah, I’m still here, but who's that.’ my eyes refocused to a figure in the distance, bouncing from rooftop to rooftop. I couldn’t get a good look at them so I moved to my balcony, for all I knew, it could be another Akuma.

They started to get closer, it looked like they were headed to the Eiffel Tower. I squinted my eyes, trying to make them out, I didn’t notice how far forward I was leaning until I almost fell. I clamped one hand over my mouth to stifle my shock and grabbed the railing to steady myself. My eyes were wide in fear for the suddenness of it. I really needed to stop almost dying, it’s not good for my health, I swear that if I wasn’t already going to die in a month, I just lost 10 years of my life in the last week.

I made sure I was stable and looked back up at the figure, from here I could just barely make out the cat ears. Chat, I let out a sigh of relief, not an Akuma. The relief quickly turned into concern, what is he doing out so late? I wanted to transform and talk to him but I didn’t want to wake Tikki, she deserves her rest and it’s not fair to her if I bother her just to talk with my crush.

Chat came closer and was about to pass when his eyes snagged on me, the only other person outside at this time of night. He came closer and landed on my baloney in front of me.

“Hello purrincess, what are you doing up at this hour?”

I gave a small giggle at the nickname before my mood spiraled downwards and my smile wilted only a bit. “I don’t know, too many thoughts are running through my head I guess. What about you? It’s pretty late.”

“Same as you.” I scooted over giving him room to lean on the railing with me.

“Are you okay?” I asked, glancing over at him.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” He looked at me reassuringly, it felt forced though, like he was faking it.

“Really? Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m sure.” His words were harsher this time, still soft but colder. My eyes widened and I looked away. “Sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out that way, I’m not fine, but I’m not ready to talk about it.”

“That’s okay, I just want you to be alright.”

“Well, I am for the most part, but you don’t sound alright, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I swear, I guess my arm is just bothering me a bit.” I technically didn’t lie, if I wasn’t bit, I’d have less things to fret over.

“Let me see, do you need to go to the hospital?” he moved so he was standing in front of me.

“No, I’m fine.” I brandished my arm for him to see. “It’s just a bit sore when-” his hand accidentally brushed it. “You touch it!” I yelped the last part. I haven’t really noticed it unless something moves against it. Chat jumped back.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to.”

“I know, I know, it just was a tiny shock of pain, don’t worry, I’m fine really, I was just surprised.” I dropped my arm. “You can come back, I’m not going to explode.
