Chapter 5 a dark night

May eyes widen as the ranger turned off the outside lights it was dark too dark and to quiet the only thing I could hear was my own heart racing in my chest tears rolled down my cheek as a thought was stuck in my head this is it I'm next I just know it there is no way out as I watched that monster carry away my friends body I couldn't help to think if mark was ok those thoughts stuck with me and I just wanted this all to be a bad dream to wake up in my apartment in my warm blankets instead of watching people die left and right first rick now John.I felt lightheaded I could hear Jake calling for the ranger to hurry over I could only hear muffled voices of the ones standing over me as I could hear my hart growing louder thump thump thump thump everything went black and silent.I could see something a little boy who looked about nine sitting on the bench with his lag in a cast and crutches laid right next to him I realized that nine year old kid was me I could remember it so well as I fell down the stairs at school and broke my lag it was the last game for my team the bulldogs I wasn't allowed to play my mom never shown up for the last game so I tried to hold back the tears I looked out at the Field as the team was coming back from the game Cheering they won that's when a boy walked over to nine year old me he had red curly hair with brown eyes.it felt like my hart dropped it was John when he was ten that's when everything faded I woke gasping Jake looked at me."hey James are you alright" "y-yeah I'm fine..what happened?"I sat up on my bed and rubbed my head "it seemed like you fainted when you fell back you hit your head on the ground the ranger checked if you had a concussion but you where fine but you did scare Rachel though she ran outside" "i-is she ok?" I got up off of the ground and ran to the entrance I saw her there she had her head placed between her hands she looked to exhausted and her eyes looked pink and puffy I walked over to her standing next to her looking at the moon in the far off distance."nice moon am I right" she didn't reply she kept quiet the whole time not even looking in my direction I sighed "listen we are going to get out of this I promise the ranger contacted the police we are going to be safe"she looked at me "promise"she held out her pinky I smiled "I promise"she smiled Jake ran up from behind Rachel and put her in a head lock Jake and Rachel began to laugh and so was I.
