2 months later
Adrien's life was finally taking a turn for the better. He had the most beautiful and caring girl as his girlfriend, and she just so happened to be his Lady! Alya and Nino were ecstatic, and Alya was screaming things about how it was"about time" before Marinette dragged him away, her face flaming red. Even though it was the cause of Chloe and Lila and other fangirls akumatisation, Adrien wouldn't have it any other way. And besides, even though Hawkmoth was akumatising more and more villains, it was always amazing to fight with his bugaboo at his side.
However, he also felt guilt knawing at him for all the trouble he had caused Marinette and her family.
Ever since that wondrous night they revealed their identities, Adrien had been staying at the Dupain-Cheng household. He had been staying in Marinette's room, sharing the family's meals, and even helping them at the shop. He enjoyed it, but he also knew that the Dupain-Chengs were kind people and wouldn't say anything of the sort to his face. But as the days went on, he felt the guilt weighing down on him getting heavier and heavier.
So that night, he planned to ask Marinette if they were truly ok with it. He hadn't actually asked before. He just stayed there. He wasn't sure if Mari had asked them either.
*Later that night*
Marinette and Adrien were snuggled up together on the couch, watching a horror film. Even though Marinette said she wasn't scared of anything, nonetheless a "stupid movie", she was snuggled right up to him, clutching his arm and ducking below the blanket whenever a jumpscare was shown. Adrien found this absolutely adorable and wrapped his arms around her lovingly. As the final jumpscare was shown and the credits rolled, Marinette was still underneath the blanket burrowed up to his chest like a little bunny. He laughed a little before remembering what he wanted to talk to her about.
"Marinette?"
"Mmph?" came the reply
"I wanted to ask you something"
She emerged from the covers, face red from the warmth, and looked up at him expectantly. Just by seeing her large curious eyes, he wanted to put off the question and ask something else. But he had to find out before the guilt ate him all up. He turned around so that they were both sitting opposite sides of each other and asked her.
"Am I really welcome here? Like, are your parents okay with me staying in your room? It's been two months and I can't help but think I'm a burden on the bakery and your parents."
To his surprise, Marinette burst out laughing.
"Oh my God Adrien, you are the world's prettiest idiot. Of course, my parents are okay with you! In fact, they're more then ok. It was in-fact their idea to keep you in my room!"
Adrien was stunned and cocked his head as he continued to look at a laughing Marinette.
"Really?"
"Of course! Just because you broke the oven, spatula, and nearly sent the kitchen in flames doesn't mean they hate you kitty" She stopped laughing quite so much and settled for small giggles instead. "In fact, I would say they love you more than they love me!"
Adrien started laughing with her. He was as light as a feather felt like such an idiot. He scooped her into a hug and carried her up to her bedroom. He tucked her into the bed and climbed in after. They hugged, planting small kisses on each other thinking of how lucky they both were before snuggling up ready to sleep.
"Goodnight Kitty, I love you" Marinette yawned and rested her head on his chest.
"Night Purrincess, love you more"
Adrien thought he heard a whisper of a reply
"Not possible" before kissing her forehead and dozing off to sleep. He was in his own perfect world.
