Emerald Eyes

Marinette sat on her swivel chair, working on one of her designs. Or, at least she was trying to. Usually, she would have no trouble with sketching, the flow coming naturally to her hand as smooth as silk. But today was different. She couldn't get Chat Noir out of her head. She kept seeing tears come out of his sad emerald eyes.

Emerald Eyes. The ones that reminded her of....Adrien.

And the hair, golden blonde, soft , floofy hair. That also reminded her of Adrien.

Marinette stood up hastily, dropping her pencil in shock. It couldn't be. It wasn't possible. But she herself had made the connection yesterday, hadn't she? She thought back to last evening when she cradled Adrien in her arms. She remembered what he had told her.

"My Father doesn't care about me, in his eyes I'm easily replaceable."

Adrien had trouble with his Father. Chat had trouble with his Father.

Slowly, she connected all the dots inside of her head. The idea of her Adrien being her Chat Noir was becoming more vivid. It had to be true. Now that she was thinking about it, there was no way it couldn't be true. She sat down again and unlocked her diary from its box. She flipped to the back and Wrote a title which she then underlined.

Similarities Between Adrien and Chat

No sooner had she wrote it down, she heard light tapping coming from her window. She jumped in surprise.Cha- Adrien? Now? How was she going to approach this?

Marinette was often visited by Chat, but only after they had patrol, when the sky was pitch black and speckled with stars. She had to hurry back as soon as she could after patrol, and had to hide her panting after Chat arrived no longer then a minute after her. But right now, it was just after lunch time. Was their any trouble?

She locked her diary once again and stood up from her chair. She could tell that today was going to be a long day.

"What are you doing here, Chat?

Chat Noir, or should she say Adrien was now lounging on her Chaise, although he didn't look like his normal bubbly self. He was probably still shaken up from last night. Marinette felt her cheeks blush fiery red at the thought of her crush inside of her room. She hoped that the mid-day heat would take the blame for her. But Chat was sitting up straight now, a look of faint happiness on his face.

"Marinette. I just wanted to say...thank you. For last night. You really helped me a lot. I-I don't know what I would've done without you."

Chats face dropped, almost as if he was...embarrassed?

"Adr- Chat! No need to apologise at all, silly kitten." Marinette had to refrain from using Chats real name. "You needed someone, Chat. So I thought I should help. That's what friends do. And your anextra special kitten to me, Chat Noir"

Marinette looked down at her feet. She had almost given up the fact that she knew who he was. But she looked up suddenly when she felt Chat hug her. He pressed a pink rose into her hand.

"Thank you, Marinette. You truly are the best, purrincess. But I should go now. I-I have to...Ahh, I have to patrol..to..make sure everyone's safe! Thats it!"

And with that, he jumped out of her window and scaled the building until he was out of sight.

Marinette was still frazled from the hug. But she was even more surprised about the excuse that Chat had made.

As Tiki gave her a questioning glance from inside her purse, Marinette was already down in the bakery, telling her parents she had to give Alya a notebook.

"We don't have patrol on a Sunday. And you went the wrong way" she mumbled as she made her way towards the square.
