I opened the book to the first page and started reading 'March 16th, 2020. Dear Diary, today is the first day of quarantine' I rolled my eyes and kept skimming the text 'September 9th, 2022. Dear Diary, after over two years of quarantine, the days have slowly been getting longer. most of us are getting worried and the ones who aren't just don't care. I don't think we have much time before the world ends. if it doesn't and someone finds this hello, what year is it? Did the days go back to normal? Well, that's all for today, diary. Sincerely,' Nobody knew who the author was, the signature couldn't be read due to it being sloppy and smudged.

"Drac, Ri-Ri, come here," I said as I looked over the page again. "What's up, Lynxie? Find something new in that raggedy old thing?" The true-black-haired male teased as he walked over to my side. "Actually, yes, I did, idiot" I snapped and pushed my strawberry-blonde hair out of my face. "Drac," I whined, "hurry up!" My gaze shifted to the platinum hair male whose nose was shoved in a book of fantasy "What, pinkie?" Draco asked playfully before sitting next to me. I pointed to the date and then the part that confused me the most before reading it out loud " 'I don't think we have much time before the world ends.' What do you think that means? I know that 2020 caused doubts for everyone, but we never heard of things getting worse to the point of the world ending." Orion reached over my head, which wasn't hard to do as he stood a foot and two inches taller than me, and snatched the diary. He reread the whole page, eyebrows furrowing.

After hours of discussing the entry with Orion, he kicked us out of the library, saying that the author probably just had a case of paranoia "Draco, what's today's date?" I asked looking up at him "Saturday, September 10th Lynx. You knew that. Why did you ask?" I shrugged and climbed up on a crumbling wall so I could be taller than him. "Do you think there's a reason that the world didn't end?" I asked as we walked to our little hideout. "Like, from what they taught us in History of the Old World, people needed oxygen, sunlight, and food to survive... And, with the oxygen staying steady, but us having no sunlight and little food, how long do you think we'll keep living?" My face and voice were perturbed as I swung my feet to the sides and front, making circles in the air with my legs while I walked. I looked down at my watch, seeing a bright 'O14'

"Jeez, Lyn, are you okay? I haven't heard you talk like that in a while... I think as long as we still have 14﹪ oxygen and keep doing what we're doing, we'll be okay" He answered after checking the level himself. I nodded and climbed into our hideout. I pulled some blankets out of the corner and tossed my bookbag to use it as a pillow when we slept here later "Time?" I asked putting together Draco's makeshift bed "3:08 pm," he said, taking his shoes off. "Naptime fun," I said as I stretched and he laid down, yawning "Hey, wait, Draco, I need to tell you something," I mumbled as he rolled to face me, waiting for my question. "If I was different than I am now, would you be okay with it?" I watched as he nodded and let out a sigh of relief before laying down "I think I am... Different, that is." My eyes welled with tears as I continued. "I don't like feeling different, I feel like everyone knows it, too..."
