Xavier's POV

After one and a quarter hour later Scott called me through the intercom.

"The boardroom is ready sir." He said..

"Will be there in a minute and please send Mrs. Knight." I said before closing off the connection. A few minutes later Arabella entered my office

"You called me?" She asked right way.

"Yes, are those presentations ready?" I asked, closing my laptop.

"Yes they are." She said, eyeing me. "Are you nervous Xavier?"

Well to be a little honest i'm nervous, a lot actually. Because I would be seeing Alison, after a very long time. Oh how I long to get a mere glimpse of her face.

"What do you mean?" Looking away from her as I stood up. I grabbed my tie and pushed up my collar.

"I mean you look anxious and you are fidgeting with your tie. Need some help?" Arabella offered, as she saw I was unable to form a proper knot.

"No thank you." I declined her offer.

"You are anxious because you'll meet Ali." She stated after silently watching me for a moment.

"And you aren't helping." I grumbled looking down at my tie.

"You declined my offer." Arabella gasped.

"Okay. Help me?" I asked, sighing in defeat. She smiled at me and advanced toward me.

"Gladly." She said taking the tie from my hand and within seconds she was done forming a tight knot. After that she tugged on my collar and fixed that.

"Thank you. You surely do know how to tie a tie." I said shrugging on my coat over my shirt and waistcoat.

"Yeah, marrying a man who is obsessed with tie, made me very swift." she said waving her hand in the air.

"Wish I could date someone like you." I said. My words were anything but a joke.

"Too bad too late." she said, holding up her left hand, making her wedding band and ring sparkle under light, throwing spectrum of rays in different directions. I laughed at her expression.

"Let's go." I said sticking out my hand, gesturing her out.

Alison's POV

"I want to go home to my wife after this gets over." My boss standing beside me grumbled fixing his cuff links.

"Your wife is here. And weren't you supposed to take Arabella out tonight?" I asked, since I myself booked their reservations.

"Was that tonight?" He asked with a horrified expression on his face. I just raised one of my eyebrows at him. I bite the inside of my cheeks to stop me from laughing at my best friend's antics.

" Jesus I just want to enjoy some alone time with my wife, home relaxing." Alexander groaned out, leaning his head back, on the lift's wall. Currently we are in Roosevelt's office building riding the lift up to the topmost floor where they housed their CEO's office and boardroom.

"Should I cancel the reservation?" I asked, gliding my hand over the sides of my maroon bodycon dress.

"Can you?" He asked, lifting up his head with a hint of hope in his eyes. I just looked at him with a bored dead expression. I mean really after working for him for six long years he asked me this? Whether I can cancel a reservation, or not.

Wow.

"You're a lifesaver Ali." He said trying to give me a side hug but I held up my hand as the car came to a stop and the doors opened revealing a brightly smiling Scott, Xavier's personal assistant.
