Alison's POV
"Good morning John." I greeted the concierge of my new apartment building. Well I had to change to another new apartment after my ex-fiance kicked me out of my own house, don't I? Anyhow this area is quite calm then the place where I used to live, which is basically the other end of Manhattan.
"Good morning Miss Winter." John greeted me with a smile, his skin wrinkling around his kind black eyes. John was in his late fifties with salt and pepper hair and a white moustache. "Enjoyed the morning walk with shopping I see." He said, eyeing the bags with me which I put down on the marble white floor in front of closed elevator
"Yes indeed I did. It's a fresh and lovely morning" I replied with a smile. A slight movement in the background caught my eye, bringing my attention toward the source. There were people, helpers, in beige uniform standing with plastic covered brand new furniture beside them. I frowned slightly.
"Hey John?" I asked, still looking at them while they waited in front of the lift to open.
"Yes, Miss Winter." I looked at the concierge.
"What is going on here?" I asked nodding at those men.
"Well ma'am a new family is moving in." John said looking behind my head.
"Is that so? " I said as I looked back and watched the helpers lifting up the furniture and taking it upstairs.
"Yes. They are moving right beside your's."
"That penthouse?" I questioned. That penthouse is huge, extravagant and extremely spacious. Wouldn't it be since not only it consists of half of my floor but also the whole floor above mine. That roughly sum up to more than 480 square meter
"Yes ma'am. They will be here within two to three days." John nodded.
"Wow. Better get a welcome party prepared for my new neighbours." I laughed, making John laugh alongside me.
"Well then better start off with the preparation. Have a good day John!" I waved at John as the lift dinged open. I picked up the bags and entered the lift
"You too ma'am." He said before the door of the lift closed.

After taking a long relaxing shower I stepped out of the bathroom wearing a light pink spaghetti strap tank top with black floral shorts, my feet bare of and shoe or stockings, as I padded to my vanity table and switched the blow dryer on. After I blow dried my hair I pulled my hair up in a messy bun with the help of a pencil and walked out of my new bedroom. Dodging the scattered around cardboard boxes on the floor I went inside the open kitchen and turned on the stove to prepare my dinner. Tonight I am going to make some roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and other vegetables that I'm not quite sure of. Midst washing the vegetables, a knock came from my front door.
