Xavier's POV
"Mason you better-" I got cut off as soon as I saw a girl standing in front of my bedroom door. The girl gasped and her dove grey eyes widen in shock. She immediately turned away.
"What do you need?" I asked her back. She had raven black hair, like midnight, till her waist.
"Er- I-I- umm... I-I came h-here to meet my b-brother." The girl stuttered meekly, still facing away from me.
"Who is your brother?" I asked her softly. She was shivering like a timid pure soul, trying to find a way out of a hell hole.
"Um... Mason? Doesn't he live here? " She stated, more like asked me. This girl had a tanned complexion which suits her, contrasting her grey eyes. She looks beautiful, like an angel, roaming on earth.
"He lives here darling. What's your name dear?"
"Wint-"
"Winn? Baby what are you doing here?" My best friend asked, the girl, Winn, from behind me. Winn looked back at Mason and her eyes widen and a big smile adorned her lips. She came running past me and hugged her brother. So did Mason.
"Please excuse us." Mason said, taking her away with him toward his room. A moment later everything dulled in colour, a small whimpering noise came from Mason's room. Without knowing my feet carried me toward that room. I twisted the knob and opened the door to reveal my best friend sitting on the floor, rocking back and forth crying. I went inside, everything was foggy in here with dim to bright yellow and white lights illuminated. I went to my best friend's side as he threw his head back and gave out a sharp cry of pain, anger and agony. His cheeks covered in dried blood, his hands cradling a lifeless body of his sister to his chest. My knees gave up as I sank into the dirty mud of the road side, by Mason's side. Her face was covered in deep cuts, blood and mud, making it unbearable to recognise her, but her hair was hard to miss. Same midnight black as the first day I saw her. Now she lays dead in her brother's hold.
They finally killed her.
I jerked up from my sleep, my breath shallow and frantic, cold sweat dripping down from the sides of my head and neck.
After steading my breath I pushed my body up against the headboard as I gazed outside through the glass walls of my penthouse. The sun was just rising, making the dark cold New York night sky burn in warm orange yellow flames. I sighed leaning my head back wishing someone could burn the darkness away from my life. The nightmare is still fresh in my memory.
She was my first true love without even my own knowledge
I smiled ruefully as I remember that shy girl, and how she would make me smile everyday. I also remember the day she went away, leaving me alone.
She died, eight years ago.
And that still haunts me till this day. I'll have the same nightmare over and over again for the past eight years, just everytime it will be a different version.
I closed my eyes and rubbed the back of my hand over them, feeling tired again already.
Do I have to live the rest of my life without having the ones I fell in love with?
Soon the alarm started ringing, making me open my eyes and switch off the alarm. I was brought back to reality, where I was the cruelest boss the world portrayed me as. Where Alison hates me.
Does she really hate me?
If not will she ever give me a chance?
That thought brought hope in me. I could see a small dim light of hope now. But I need to speak to Arabella first.
With that in mind I got up from the bed, ready to face another new day, where I can see a little bit of hope.

"Scott, tell Mrs. Knight to meet me as soon as she comes."
I entered my office and dropped my briefcase on my table alongside taking off my coat and hanging it on the back of the large black leather chair. My hands went outward my collar and I loosened the tie and rolled up my sleeves as I sat on my chair, ready to tackle today.
After fifteen minutes came a knock on my office door.
"Come in. " I called out, guessing the person might be Arabella.
"Sir you asked for me? " As I guessed Arabella said, peeking her head in through the ajar door. I nodded at her as she entered my office and closed the door behind her.
"Please seat. " I gestured toward the beige leather chairs in front of the dark oak desk. She sat on the chair and crossed her hands on the desk.
"New project?" She asked studying my actions.
"No." I sighed leaning back on the chair with my leg crossed at the knee.
"What is it?" Arabella asked looking at me tentatively as a frown marred her face.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Why didn't I tell you what?" Her frown deepened as she asked me, getting confused.
"Alison's breakup." I blurred out. Arabella's eyes widened and soon guilt swam in them. She did know everything but didn't bother to tell me.
"Xavier it's-" She started but got cut off.
"And here I was devastated thinking she was going to get married." to another man. my blood boils even speaking about the woman I love getting married to someone else. " When did that happen?"
"Three months ago." She held up her hand in front of me, stopping me. "Before you speak let me just explain myself. I did know everything because I was the one who she turned up after Jacob broke everything of their seven year relationship over a glass of wine. She was broken, Xavier. What was I supposed to tell you?"
I just looked at her but stayed silent. She sighed and bowed her head down.
" I know you love her Xavier. And I want to see you two together happy, believe me. But give her some time, she needs time to heal before starting afresh." Arabella said, reaching out to grab my hand on the table. I didn't pull away as she gave me a reassuring squeeze, which says everything is going to be alright. It is going to be alright and I'm going to make sure of that.
"Okay. I'll wait forever for Alison. But do you know where she lives now?" I asked letting go of her hand. Arabella raised one of her eyebrows at me and I smirked at her.
" I do, but what's going on in that brain of yours?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at me and crossing her arms on her chest. I gave a nonchalant shrug but told her.
"At this moment; nothing much. But I just want to pay her a friendly visit."
Those amusing hazel eyes widen slightly, "Xavier... " Arabella said in a warning tone.
I raised my hands above my head in mock surrender " I'm not gonna make any move on her just a simple visit. You know check up on her."
"Why am I finding it hard to believe you?" Arabella accused her eyes turning into slits.
"You don't trust me?"
"No it's not like- Ugh I'll give you the address but Xavier give her some time don't rush." I nodded at her giving her some reassurance.
I'm coming for you my love, just wait for me.
