Inky Strings

Chapter 3

(Ink's POV) 

Blue and Dream have been acting odd lately. Going places without me and asking weird questions like: "do you have a preference of nice cream over tacos" or "do you have a favorite au". Those where the kind of questions that I wasn't sure how to answer. Especially the first one. I mean, I like tacos, but I also like nice cream. And how am I supposed to pick a favorite au when they are all amazing, err- most of them are. I usually just check the AUs in the Doodle Sphere, but this time I wanted to check them in person. So I headed out to check up on some AUs to make sure Error hadn't destroyed them. "Dancetale: check, Underfell: check, Underswap: check, Underlust: ... Check?, Outertale: che- wait..." I could see someone in the distance. I moved a bit closer and recognized them as Error. Outertale was his favorite au. I thought about saying hi. But when I checked my scarf, I remembered what had happened and decided to leave him alone.

(Error's POV)

I was sitting on a near by asteroid, knitting and looking the stars. I saw Ink staring in my direction, but I pretended not to notice. I didn't want to talk to Ink, not after what I had done. What would he think of me? After a while it started getting darker, so I decided to leave. I took off my glasses, gathered my stuff, and opened a portal back to base. As soon as I stepped in, I heard a lot of noise. I don't know why there was so much noise, but I knew it sounded annoying. I walked downstairs and found out why. Apparently everyone found singing some karaoke a good idea. I mean, its not like it was the middle of the night or anything!

 Anyways, I tried to rest, but the noise was too loud. None of these guys are good singers. So I went downstairs to get them to stop. "What the *boop* are you guys doing?" I asked even though I could literally see the karaoke machine. "What does it look like? We are having a karaoke night," Dust told me. I rubbed between my eyes. "I know but why?" "Cuz, we can? Also we have a taco bar and a chocolate fountain," Dust added, "don't ask where we got them from though." It was obvious to me that they weren't going to stop. So if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em. I ended up singing "All Star" with Horror, Killer, and Dust, and let me tell you we sucked-

After a few more songs, we had finally gone to sleep. When we woke up, Nightmare told us to go do something productive with ourselves. So, I chose to go destroy an au. That always made me feel productive. I teleported to Underlust. I meant to destroy that place sooner, especially since Lust started sending us pictures of who knows what. We never looked at them, they were always thrown away as soon as we saw them. I started with terrorizing some of the snowdin villagers. But I wasn't able to kill anyone before Ink showed up. Ink splattered a bit of paint on my head. "Error, I thought you stopped doing this. I get that it's Underlust but still..." Ink said to me. I stopped destroying the place and huffed, blushing a little. "But the anomalies-" I started, but I was cut off. "No, Error. There are other ways." "Like what, Ink?" I asked, my arms crossed. "Well," Ink looked like he was thinking, "have you ever tried asking nicely?" We both laughed. Like that would ever happen. Then there was an awkward silence. That silence made me feel desperate to leave. It's not like Ink would just let me destroy the au anyway. But just as I was about to leave, I started noticing how cute he looked, from his eyes to his shoes. A small voice in my head said, "Ask him out." Then it started getting louder and louder until I couldn't hear anything else. Then, with out even thinking, I blurted, "Do you want to go watch the meteor shower in Outertale with me?"
