Ink woke up from his slumber.
It was cold but the body beside him provided enough heat to let him lay there undisturbed. His senses started to come back to feel the soothing combing of someone on his skull. He looked up to see Error. He was watching the door for anyone that might enter. The destroyer looked down and was surprise to see him awake.
"I thought you'd be sleeping longer than this." Error said but didn't object as Ink sat up on the bed.
"I don't feel sleepy anymore..." He paused to rub his eye socket. "We should probably talk about what to do now."
Error looked back at the door to see any signs of people but when he found none, he spoke up. "Sure, where should we start?"
Ink looked up to think for a moment and when he finally settled with something, he looked back. "I have a hunch who rules this place."
"You do?"
"I didn't tell anything but Lust have dropped enough hints in camp for me to connect it."
"Go ahead."
"It could be Geno." Ink said. "And it could also be Fresh."
"The Parasite?" Error asked in confirmation.
"He might be... but this is a different Multiverse. The Counterpart might be different." Ink said and he was rooting for the possibility that it was Geno.
The destroyer would rather stand for the anomaly than to that annoying Parasite. Error saw a hesitant gaze thrown by Ink and he tilted his head in returned. The artist took a breath before asking.
"Should... should we tell one of them?"
"Tell... them?" Error trailed.
"Admit it, Error." Ink said, crossing his arms. "We can only do so much. We have limitations and right now... we need someone to cling on."
"Lust stood up for us." Error said.
"No. He can't do much. If the ruler threatened Horror's life, there's high chance that he would turn against us for him." The artist's gaze was distant as he thought of the outcomes.
"I guess we have to take our chances to the ruler of this place."
They heard a knock on the door. It was soon followed by the lock clicking open and Lust entering his own room. He was quite surprise to see the two up and chatting like yesterday was nothing. He wasn't complaining though. It was better to see them together instead of apart.
He smiled at the two kindly. "I'm glad to see that you're okay."
Ink blinked but his expression turned guilty for a moment before averting his gaze. Lust scanned for any injuries but it seems like their rest had taken care of it. They didn't suffer major injuries because in truth, they fought like they knew some of the people. Nightmare for example, even the King was surprise of Ink.
"The King of Cyfrin wants to see you. Especially Error." Lust said and pulled Ink out the bed to adjust his clothing.
He smoothen the wrinkles from the shirt. Ink let him put the scarf again more neatly around his neck. He didn't show any signs of fear which seemed to lessen Ink's tension. He brushed his hand on the other's forehead comfortingly before pulling away. After that, he moved on to Error who gave a small action of disapproval but slumped after the assassin put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Error watched the hand wander to erase the ruffles in his clothes.
