Ericka's POV
"Good," I said. "You need to put a restraining order on him." I looked at Alexis. "But do you have to wait till strike three? Why not just do it now? Get him arrested on his third try."
"Ericka, I think we've already been through this," said Alexis.
"Alexis, you want to see the good in everybody but if you haven't noticed, Lucas isn't all that good," I said.
"I know that now," said Alexis.
"Then put the restraining order on him," I said touching her left shoulder.
"Ow," said Alexis as she removed my hand.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked.
"My shoulder hurts," said Alexis. "Just don't."
"Alexis, what did Lucas do to you?" I asked.
"Nothing," said Alexis.
"Nothing? Really?" I asked. "Blake."
"Alexis, please," said Blake. He held her. "Tell me what's wrong."
He was able to slip clothing off her shoulder and I saw the bruise. "Oh my god, Alexis," I said. "Did Lucas do that to you?"
"It's no big deal," said Alexis.
"Alexis, if you come home with a black eye are you going to feed me that same line?" I asked. "It's no big deal? I'm not buying it."
"I'm fine," said Alexis. "It's just a bruise."
"Yeah, shaped like someone hit you with a brass knuckle," I said. "We're going to the court house and getting that restraining order filed." I found an address for the Court House and typed it into my GPS. "Let's go."
"No," said Alexis.
"Come on," said Blake. He carried her out to the camaro. He got her in. "Take care of her."
"I will," I said. I drove her to the court house. She kept resisting but I pulled her along anyway. I got her to the office. "Hi. I'm here to file a restraining order for my friend. She's not wanting to but she really needs it."
"It's her choice," said the secretary.
"Please, this restraining order will do some good," I said. "The person has already hit her once."
"Probable cause?" asked the secretary.
"Alexis," I said. I grabbed her and showed the secretary the bruise. "She did not have that bruise when we arrived her from NYC. We went to the mall and she told me she had an encounter with her ex, and that's when she got it. I want a restraining order filed against him."
"Ma'am," said the secretary.
"Please," I said.
"Between us," said the secretary putting a piece of paper in front of me with a pen. "I have a friend just like you. Just sign her name here and it's done. A hundred feet."
"Thank you so much," I said as I signed Alexis name. We got back into the camaro. "Was that so hard?"
"Easier than I thought," said Alexis. "Thanks Ericka. I would've waited."
"Well, he has a surprise the next time he gets within less than a hundred feet of you," I said. We got to Alexis' place and there was a black SUV. Blake and Drew were waiting with our suitcases. Drew also had my bags. We got out of the camaro. "Where exactly are we going?"
