CHAPTER FOUR

Paula tried to reach her mother on the phone but she wasn't answering anymore, maybe she's almost here she thought to herself but she would have called me to let me know...Alan came to her and suggested that they should use his car to go pick her up cause it was already getting so late, paula agreed to this and they drove off. On getting to the oatcreek boundary, they saw the oatcreek fire department putting out the fire which her mother's killer had triggered and they were instructed not to go close to the crime scene and then she started asking them questions...who's the owner of the car? she asked...we don't know all we know is that the fire started between 10pm or 11pm we got here as soon as we could and no one was found inside...were you able to see the plate number for identification? paula asked...are you looking for a relative or something? my mom,she was on this road between 10pm and 11pm and she hasn't arrived home since then cause her car broke down...the fire department officer called the plate number and paula got a panic attack instantly...thanks for your help sir alan added...ah..ahh..Alan that's my mom's car, shh...sh..www..what if...they took her, pull yourself together we are gonna find her, common let's go i promise you nothing is gonna happen to her...the two went into the woods desperately shouting and calling for hermena but there was no answer...they searched for her for about 40minutes but couldn't see her until they turned to the other part of the road...at the entrance, they saw her lifeless body all soaked in blood with her torn clothes and her flesh all open...MOM!!! Paula screamed running towards her...no mum wake up (she sobs while holding her lifeless body) wake up we are not done...our story is just getting started mom i can't loose you now...Alan tried so hard to console her but she refused...its OK paula she's gone crying won't bring her back...let's take her home staying out here is dangerous maybe her killer is still around here...Then let them come I am not scared of them paula replied... Alan knows that the pain and grief paula was feeling at that moment wouldn't let her listen to him so he had to think of something...he got closer to her and scratched her with his claws which made her to sleep off then he took her into the car and carried her and her mother's corpse home.

Greta had gone to visit her girlfriend who was receiving treatment at home for her wounded neck, her father nathan sanders
didn't think the wound was much of a serious thing to be checked in the hospital so he decided to give her private treatments...hey babe(they both hugged each other and kissed) how you feeling now? Greta asked
...much better but my neck still hurts like a bitch (they both chuckled) uhhhh...am so sorry i have not been coming lately, been busy with so many shits...I got family drama, got school issues and so on...don't apologize (olivia holds her hands) the past two weeks hasn't been fair to anyone but we just gotta move on right? olivia tells her...yeah greta agrees...about the other night, how did you withstand that creepy thing that attacked us? I did? Greta said this pretending to be confused...don't play games with me babe, Lara told me how you fought it olivia replied...Greta paused for a moment,she had to be careful on how to answer this question or else she may risk exposing herself...I know this is gonna sound weird to you but before me and my brother relocated to oatcreek i used to take fighting lessons...(olivia laughs hard) like karate? Olivia asked...yea like karate greta replied...mmmmhm tell me about it Olivia requests looking curious... so i learnt a few tricks and kicks atleast enough to kick someone's ass...so I've been dating a ninja all these while and you never told me about it( they both chuckles) i didn't see any need to greta replied...mmmmhhm, what they say you can't really know the whole of someone, but did you see his face? Olivia asked...I didn't it was dark greta replied...what do you think he was?...maybe a lab rat used for creepy experiments who went rogue and said you know what " imma go partying" Greta replied ( they both chuckled)am serious babe...honestly i don't know,been hearing about them on the news but that was the first time I saw one Greta answered...wait is that thing responsible for the killings where they leave their victims without their heart? Yea,am pretty sure he is...that explains it all, when he held me he was aiming at my chest like he wanted to bite me, it was really awkward...you're safe now forget about him OK greta tells her...what about ceritha? Olivia asked...she was admitted to Oatcreek general hospital Greta replied...hope she's gonna be alright?...yea she will...gotta admit I've missed her so much...we all have Greta replied while holding Olivia's hands...i love you babe, same here greta replied.

Two days after paula discovered her mother's body in the woods...the shock she experienced that night triggered a psychological trauma which resulted to depression, sometimes she would attempt taking her own life...she kept staring at her mother's corpse and muttering words which no one could hear...alan had approached her multiple times where she tried to slice her own throats with a dagger but he would not allow her to do it. She isolated herself from
carlus and alan who seemed to have been the only family she's got at that moment. Carlus joined Alan at the parlor where he was watching over her...gotta admit she's getting worse by the day carlus tells alan...her mother's death have been really hard on her...yea, i know what it feels like to loose someone who's special ( carlus said this as his face got emotional) am I missing something? Alan asked...what?...you said that like you actually meant it, i haven't seen you this emotional ever since mom died...oh common alan are you kidding me now...am not alan replied ( they both chuckled) well there was a girl I met at the dowells lab, she was the daughter of who owned the lab...every morning she'll sneak out just to come to my cell she brought food sometimes,we cracked jokes and did other fun stuffs,we got really close and fell in love her name was reginia...then what happened to her ? alan asked...one day she came to me and told me it was time to let me go at first I couldn't understand until she brought the keys to my cell and told me to run,I told her to come with me but she refused we were arguing about it then her dad walked in trying to recapture me but I fed on him in her presence.
..she became scared and ran away...mmmmhm, do you think she could still be alive? alan asked curiously...to be honest I don't think so but if she is, she'll really be old like about 73 years right now it doesn't even matter anymore cause she's human she may die sooner or later from old age...sorry about that, i didn't know you cared about someone alan added...mhnmm alan,I'm definitely not having this conversation with you go check on paula (knock on door) who's that? Alan asked...it's me wickins...come on in, I got your texts and I came ASAP...what's so urgent? uhmmm there's no easier way to say this,we found your mother's corpse close to the boundary two days ago,a lavadora killed her...wickins broke down in tears trying to breathe, the news of his mother's death was unexpected from him but he was being consoled by alan.

At the O'oats, jeffery had gone to order for food and J.K asked him what can I offer you sir? I need a full cup of cornmeal shakes...wow, you drink that too? lara asked him...am sorry do I know you? Jeff asked her looking curious...forgive my manners, it seems like am the only one that takes it in this town...you mean the cornmeal shakes?...Yea,i usually drink it more than six times in a day by the way am Lara Penberthy daughter of the mayor...am jeff,kinda new in this town...tell me about it lara replied...you seem like you come across many srrangers in this diner jeff asked her...welcome to oatcreek where strangers are more than the original townspeople ( they both chuckled) so what is a young lady like you doing out here by this time,are you looking for love or are you running from one...hmmmm,i can't really say but i do come here to hang out when am less busy you know there was a guy like you i once met here dark hair...blue eyes and a signet ring I've only seen him once seems like he doesn't stay around...does he have a little british accent? jeff asked...Yea how'd you know that Lara asked, and he wore a black leather jacket too...jeff could only think of one person with these features and that was carlus...did he tell you his name jeff asked...no he didn't we just had dinner and he escorted me back home why all the questions though?...lara asked...forgive my rude manners i was kinda thinking maybe i would know him too you know,small world (they both chuckled) alright then...Jeff was now certain that carlus was roaming the streets of oatcreek.

Alan had offered to take paula for a walk around the floggers house leaving carlus behind (knocks on door) who's there? carlus asked...it's derileo your neighbor...immediately he opened the door Eli pointed a crossbow at him telling him not to make a sound while the rest of the crew comes inside...what's this? you brought your pals to fight me? we know what you are carlus and we are taking you back to where u belong duke replied...carlus tried to transform to his lavadora state but Eli shot him three times with the crossbow...he resisted the arrows for some seconds but he couldn't do it for long because they were not ordinary arrows, he got tranquilized and fell immediately and became unconscious and they took him to their car...alan had sensed with his abilities that something was wrong as he heard the sound of their car...we have to get back he tells paula while dragging her and running back to the house...when they got there the house was empty...Alan walked close to the table and saw a written note that was dropped and it read "We have taken your brother...meet us at the Oatcreek bell tower yours truly The Green Sins" what's the matter? paula asked...its carlus he's been abducted alan replied...
