Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Lorde

Izumi walked into the surveillance room with everyone else. All Might stood at the front, directly in front of screens. There at least a dozen, giving different views and angles around the building.

She saw Iida near the top, with a fake warhead. She watched as he tried to stop Bakugo from walking away, then realized she couldn't hear them. She whispered under her breath, "Mammon, I need your assistance." She had gotten better at summoning discreetly. The only indication was the momentary golden flash of my eyes. What is it you need, Mistress?  Mammon's voice rose to the top of the cacophony in her head. He always gave her respect. He made her smile. "I need to borrow your power." Of course.

Her outward appearance didn't change but she knew that she could now copy quirks. It was the reason AFO had become interested in the quirk. It only worked with close contact, and she could hold them indefinitely. She spotted a fly on one of the screens and used Control, a quirk that let her take over small, mindless creatures. Nothing bigger than a rabbit. Bugs worked best. It was perfect for surveillance missions.

She watched Izuku and Uraraka climb in through an open window. They crept down the hall, trying to find the room where Iida hid.

As they walked to the next corner, Bakugo flew out in front of them, setting off a huge explosion that Izumi wasn't sure they could avoid. As the smoke cleared, she saw Izuku covering Uraraka with his body, the masked hood on his face half burned off.

He checked on Uraraka, asking her if she was okay, and turned to Bakugo as he mumbled about dodging.

The other students in the surveillance room with her outraged at his strategy. All Might simply calmed them down as she continued watching.

Bakugo pulled his right arm back, readying another attack, "I'll blow you away. Just short of getting this interrupted!" Izuku suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him over his shoulder in an impressive toss.

Uraraka gazed in amazement. She listened as Midoriya spoke next. "Kacchan, you always lead with a big right swing. I can't count the number of times I've seen you do it. Whether it was aimed at me or others. We analyzed and took notes on all the heroes we thought were amazing, my sister and I, including you."

Wait, sister? And he'd called him Kacchan. Just hearing the name and listening to them speak gave her a headache. Images flew past her eyes. She wasn't sure if they were hallucinations or her memories, finally rushing back to her.

She continued to listen to Midoriya, "-the same notes you blew up the day she disappeared. I'm going to become a hero, to find her, to be someone she could've been proud of, my sister who you hated more than me. She didn't deserve any of that. I will become a hero to protect all the people like her. Izumi Midoriya will never be forgotten!" His sudden exclamation caused Izumi to stumble back, losing her control over the fly watching them. She placed a hand on her temple as more images flashed across her eyes. A small Izuku smiling at her as they hugged a short woman. Him flashing the same smile on the way to school. Him telling her it was okay as he helped her wrap the various scrapes and bruises from Kacchan, who wasn't a friend but the worse kind of person. Someone who pushed others down to make himself feel better.

And she remembered what he told her the last time she saw him.

Why don't you take a swan dive off the roof and hope for a quirk in your next life?

His mocking voice echoed in her head. For once she heard nothing else as a wave of sudden anger pushed Mammon out and Abaddon came forth, her eyes flashed crimson. Death to the one who hurt you. Death to all that stand in the way!

A hand on her shoulder was what finally snapped her out of the dark thoughts of every way to kill Bakugo while making it look like an accident. She turned to see Yaoyorozo looking at her with worry. Izumi's face was almost entirely covered but the girl next to her had sensed her extreme level of anger. "Are you okay teammate?" Izumi gave her a quick nod and pushed her hand off of her.

No longer able to hear what was going on as Abaddon was summoned unintentionally, Izumi stood and watched as Bakugo sent an explosion at Midoriya that shook the building. Dust rained down from the ceiling in the surveillance room. All Might yelled into a speaker that must have connected into the training building, warning Bakugo not to set off another large explosion.

Izumi noticed Uraraka trying to sneak up on Iida and failing. She must have separated from Izuku earlier. Izumi watched as they came up with some sort of strategy. She saw Bakugo attack Izuku again. Since she couldn't calm down enough to use her quirk, she would have to settle for reading their lips. A skill she'd picked up from the League as well.

"Deku you are beneath me!" Bakugo threw him to the ground. "I don't care about why you want to be a hero. I had nothing to do with your sister's disappearance. I say good riddance."

She watched as rage filled Izuku's face. He yelled something she couldn't make out. He raised a first toward Bakugo, who readied another explosion.

She watched as the whole building shook again. Then in the upper screens, where Iida and Uraraka were facing off, she turned just in time to see the floor explode, Uraraka capture the weapon, and win.

All Might announced the hero team as the winner as Izuku collapsed and the surveillance room filled with silence.

What a day.

Whelp. That was a heck of a rewrite. I skipped a bunch of stuff, but it doesn't matter. Izumi now knows the truth and she is pissed.
