The boy was shadowed by the darkness as his sea green hoodie was pulled over his head. His dark black hair fell easily in his sea green eyes.

This was his favorite alley, an empty one with an old burnt out light. Some days when he sat here, it seemed like the moon was percys only friend although the moonlight felt distant tonight.

He could still here grovers voice echoing in his mind over and over again, "why'd you do it, perce?"

Annabeth and Jason has both said that he could be better, and he wasn't sure if he could afford to believe them.

He still remembered the words Annabeth had said as she died, "you could be so much more than you are,"

Jason's voice echoed in his head, "your son much more than your powers, and your not evil,"

But he couldn't help but question if that was true. He was nothing without his powers.

Without his powers, his mom would have kicked him to the curb. Without his powers Poseidon wouldn't even look at him. Without his powers he wouldn't be anywhere.

Like he was anywhere anyways. He was sitting in a dark alley, his only friends being hypnotized to be that way.

Percy knee he needed sleep. His sea green eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep, and he tried not to blink either.

Every time he closed his eyes, even for a second, he saw Annabeth, Jason, and Grovers faces. Each one smiling.

He knew he was grovers only friend. He was the only one at the funeral, the only one who knew the boy existed.

And now he was the reason Grover was dead.

"I'm sorry," he choked out.

It was his fault his best friend was dead. It was his fault that three people were dead.

"Suck it up," a voice from inside of him told him, "your a SIREN. You don't get to be attached, you don't get to care. You don't even know how to do it right,"

It was true. He cared for Grover and now he was dead. And he knew it was his fault, everything was always his fault.

Piper was always better at being evil than him. His older brother—Eros—knee how to actually do stuff. Piper was even better at being nicer than him.

And what would Leo and Thalia think once he released them? Surely nothing good.

"It's not your fault," a voice said from behind him. The SIREN jumped in surprised and turned around to see nico di angelo.

"Grover saw it the same way, he believed in you. He needed you just as much as you needed him,"

"H-how did you know that?"

"The spell wears off when you do magic. Just be lucky the other two haven't tapped into their magic because they could be powerful,"

Percy didn't smile, he didn't even look back up, he just turned around and continued sulking, "I suppose you want to kill me,"

"On the contrary actually. I came to help you. They all said something about how you could be good, yet I can tell you don't believe it,"

"Why should I?"

"Because it's true," the Italian said before his black eyes lit up, "what if I summon them? It might help!"

"You can do that?"

"I'll be passed out for a day but I can try. Hold hands with me and I'll recite the incarnation," Percy did as he was told and Nico continued, "spirits at rest, I do respect your death. But please manifest to the person who caused your final breath,"

Three siluetts shimmered in the air and hardened, two a flash game at Percy and he was laughing down on the ground.

Grover was really eager to see his friend because he was almost fully solid, "Percy!" He yelled and tackled his friend.

"Grover!" Percy yelled back.

Nico was struggling and his skin was turning pale but he explained the situation. The three ghosts turned towards Percy, "of course we meant it!" Grover yelled.

"You could be so much, you don't have to be evil," Annabeth said.

Nico couldn't keep it up for long, and the three started to fade again.

Percy looked at the three fading figures in front of him, "you actually think that?"

"Of course, perce," Grover said as he disappeared.

Nico passed out and Percy lead him to his house and laid him on the bed. Tomorrow he would stop and visit Leo.
