❝ Take me back. ❞ Lee Know hugged his legs tighter and brought them closer to himself. Tears ran down his cheeks.

He pushed himself into the corner of his childhood room. A room full of happy memories that made his heart ache more. On the floor layed a teddy bear with it's head ripped off and it's stuffing littering the floor.

The pictures on the wall, both hand drawn and taken by a camera, depicted three happy children together.

❝ Take me back to the past. The happy times. The innocent time. When my little red tulip was still blooming. ❞ He could feel himself getting consumed by sadness. The shadows of the room began to expand, evading his person space.

❝ Please. Take me back to when we were all together. Before everything took a turn for the worst. ❞ He could hear footsteps running up the wooden stairs of the house.

It reminded him so much of the past, but he knew that the person running towards him wasn't going to be the innocent six year old Han Jisung asking to play nor his eight year old twin brother, Lee Minho, telling him to clean up the toys he'd left scattered in the living room.

The person running up those steps and towards him was the truth, the reality he refused to accept. Lee Know raised his head to look at the door being opened by that person. And that person was─

❝ Minyeong. ❞

❝ Lee Know hyung! ❞ Six year old Han Jisung peaked out of the tree house and wildly waved at the eight year old Lee twin standing at the base of the tree. Lee Know grinned and waved back.

It was a week before the end of summer. The previous week Jisung had gone to visit his grandparents, and Lee Know took the opportunity to suprise him.

Lee Know begged his father to help him build a tree house, and asked Minho to help him sketch out how the final product would look so their father would understand what he wanted.

After three days of begging, his father finally gave in and helped him build the tree house. It took four days to built and a lot of tears [ Lee Know would somehow always manage to drop a wooden plank on his foot or cut his hands and arms on the nails they were using ] and sweat went into the project, but the end result was more than what Lee Know could ask for.

❝ Lee Know hyung should we invite Minho hyung? ❞ Jisung called out from the top. Lee Know bit his lip and hesitated before answering.

❝ Yeah! I'll go call him! ❞ Lee Know ran into the house. He ran straight to the kitchen where he found Minho helping their mother make lemonade.

❝ Oh Lee Know! Where's Jisung? ❞ Their mother put down the knife and lemon and gave Lee Know her undivided attention. Minho however was far more interested in putting in the right amount of sugar into the lemon water.

❝ Oh um he's in the tree house. He wanted to know if Minho would like to play with us. ❞ Minho finally looked at Lee Know. Their mother smiled.

❝ Minho why don't you go play with Lee Know and Jisung. You can even bring lemonade up to the tree house for all three of you! ❞ Minho thought about his answer for a while. He looked at Lee Know then at his mother.

❝ Okay. ❞ His mother cheered.

❝ Here Lee Know take the cups. I'll help bring the pitcher, Minho finish putting in the sugar so I can mix it in. ❞ Lee Know walked over to the counter and took the cups his mother had placed down for him.

Minho poured in the sugar and got off the chair he was using to be able to properly see the top of the counter. His mother mixed the lemonade to distribute the sugar evenly before heading out with the pitcher followed by Minho.

Lee Know had already made it into the tree house by the time they arrived.

❝ Go up and I'll hand you the pitcher. ❞ Mrs. Hong [ Lee ] instructed her son. Minho nodded and climbed up to the tree house.

His arms trembled and his heart raced as he became more and more awared that he is no longer on stable grounds. He tried his best to not look down and the tears that clouded his vision in a way helped with that.

❝ Minho hyung take my hand. ❞ Minho looked up at the bright smiling Jisung. He held out his small hand towards Minho. Minho slowly reached out towards it. Noticing Minho's slight hesitation, Jisung quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him up.

Minho quickly scrambled into the tree house and collapsed onto the ground breathing heavily. Lee Know chuckled at him.

❝ Such a baby. ❞ He muttered as he crawled back to the entrance to get the pitcher of lemonade since clearly Minho wasn't mentally nor physically prepared to do anything.

Their mother had climbed half way up tree and held out the pitcher. Lee Know reached out for it.

❝ Hold it with both hands. And be careful! ❞ Lee Know hummed and took the pitcher. He retreated one of the cups and rushed to serve himself lemonade. Minho quickly stopped him before he could make a mess [ completely forgetting the events from moments ago].

❝ Let me serve it for you. ❞ He took the cup from Jisung and poured in the lemonade. Jisung smiled.

❝ Thank you Minho hyung! ❞ Jisung moved back towards the window.

❝ Serve me too! ❞ Lee Know held out his cup. Minho scoffed and served himself.

❝ Do it yourself. I'm just a big baby remember. ❞ Minho placed the pitcher in front of Lee Know then left to sit beside Jisung. Lee Know forced a smile at him.

❝ Right. A big salty baby. ❞ He muttered.

❝ Look Hyungs! Three birds! ❞ Jisung pointed at three small birds that scored through the blue sky.

❝ I wish I were a bird. Then I can fly where ever I want. ❞ Minho looked at Jisung. A strange emotion bubbled up inside of him. Confused and conflicted, he looked away.

❝ But if you're a bird we won't be able to play together. ❞ Lee Kniw commented. Jisung pouted.

❝ Then I don't want to be a bird. I want to be with Lee Know hyung and Minho hyung! Forever! ❞ Minho's thoughts drowned out Lee Know and Jisung's conversation about what they should play. He looked out the window at the birds, watching as they freely flew in the open sky.

❝ Forever. . . ❞ He muttered. He watched as one of the birds landed on a near by tree and the other two flew off.

❝ Can we really be together forever? ❞
