"I can't do this anymore!" Mila yelled at him, her throat raw and her arms flaring as she stormed across the room to get as far away from him as possible. She was livid. "Not with your games, not with the kids, not with school or work or—" She trailed off as her voice became weak and started to waver. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath to compose herself.

"How is any of that my fault! You know you're not a game to me," Kai shouted back at her, his eyes wide with passion from the heat of argument. His arm came up to reach for her, though he let his fall straight back to his side in defeat.

"Not now! I was to begin with though, wasn't I?" Mila was breathless as her tone began rise once more. But when she spoke again, it was quiet and small. "I'm exhausted, Kai. I'm eighteen and I feel like I'm fifty. What sort of eighteen-year-old has brought up three kids from the moment they were born. Hell, what eighteen-year-old has had to pay the bills since they were fifteen. I haven't lived. At all."

"Then fucking live, Robinson!" Kai exasperated.

Mila had turned away from him, but when those words fell from his mouth, she whipped round to face him and struck a pointed finger in his direction. "How dare you, Costello. How fucking dare you." She crossed the room in few strides and slammed her hands against his chest. She knew he let her push him backwards, though this didn't stop the feeling of satisfaction. "How could you say that if it were easy! Maybe to you it is! You're a rich fucking prick and you have the privilege of not thinking. So, answer me this, Kai, who would take care of the kids? Who would pay the bills, and for food and clothes?" Her chest was rising and falling rapidly by the time she finished.

Kai only stared at her, allowing her to continue hitting his chest. "Exactly! There is no one else! But I have to do all of this, I can't just abandon them."

He caught her hands and wrapped his hand around her clenched fists. "Mila, baby, breathe. Take a break. You need a break."

"Oh yeah?" Mila stepped back and shot him an accusing look. Was he that oblivious? "How do you propose I do that? Have you not been bloody listening, or have you just lost the plot? If you haven't noticed I have two three-year olds and a twelve-month-old baby to think about, I can't drop everything and leave."

Kai stepped forward and placed his hands on either side of her face. His touch was warm, and it took everything in Mila to not lean into them. "Mila, drop everything and come to Paris with me."

Paris. The city of love. Mila had dreamed of seeing the Eiffel Tower and going to the Louvre since she was little. Of course, her mother would never have taken her, but it didn't stop the endless planning of the perfect holiday.

"I can't, I—"

Mila's cheeks were mushed together, silencing her. "Shut up and come to Paris with me," Kai laughed at her and placed his forehead against hers.

Though, she tore herself away from him. He had definitely lost the plot. Had he not been listening to a word she had been saying? "Have you gone insane? I can't just go to Paris," she hissed.

"Okay." Kai said simply and pulled his phone from his pocket and started walking to her bedroom, leaving Mila standing in the middle of the room.

"Okay? Kai?" She called after him and when she didn't get a response, Mila called out again. "Kai, what are you doing in there?" She jogged through the doorway to find him going through her drawers and pulling out clothes into a pile. "What the hell are you doing? I just tidied them today—"

"Relax. Christ, there is always a chip on your shoulder. Let loose a little."

"Well I can't relax when you're going through my stuff." Mila paused as he opened a drawer, one she didn't want him to venture through. "Kai, don't you dare—"

Mila was too late.

Kai had a wide grin plastered on his face as he pulled out a pair of red lace underwear. He leaned against the chest of drawers and dangled them from the tip of his finger. "Nice knickers, Robinson. These are definitely going into the suitcase."
