Ethan's P.O.V

Xylie's over with the twins and we're just hanging out, it's been a week and I haven't told anyone about my encounter with Dee- I mean Demi. I'm going to tell Xy now, today, if I wanna do right by her this time I have to be wholeheartedly honest with her, she needs to be able to trust me.

"Hey E, I need to tell you something." She cut me out of my thoughts.

"I was just about to tell you something, you go first." I responded, smiling.

She sighed. "I never stopped loving you and you're different now, we're both different now. I was thinking we all make mistakes and I've forgiven you for yours and we're not teenagers anymore. I'd like to put our past behind us and give us another try, as a couple but also as a family, if you want that."

I'm honestly shocked and taken aback, I knew how I felt but she feels the same way and I know she did at some point but if we're putting our past behind us then it's only smart I come clean about Demi now than later. Maybe she'll appreciate my honesty.

"I slept with someone last week." I blurted out, her eyebrows furrowed with confusion.

"I don't care about who you slept with a week or a month or a day ago. If you still feel anything to me then we can work with that. Why did you feel the need to tell me that?"

"It wasn't just anyone. I met a girl called Dee in a bar and I recognised her face but I couldn't remember where I knew her from. I slept with her and when we woke up the next morning she told me who she really was. It was Demi, I slept with Demi on my own terms."

Saying her jaw dropped would be an understatement. But she didn't look mad, which confused me. She isn't speaking, why isn't she speaking?

"I don't care." Was all she said.

"What? But it was Demi..." I started.

"Had you known who she was you wouldn't have done it. I love you Ethan, and if you love me then that's all that matters. You don't have to say anything now if you don't want to but I just wanted to get it off my chest." She began to walk away.

"Xy, I love you too."

She stopped dead in her tracks and slowly turned on her heel to face me.

"You do?"

"I do."

We walked towards each other and our lips met in the middle. It was a sweet kiss, however wet because I'd been crying. We can make things work. I broke the kiss.

"We can make this work, I know we can." I whispered.

"We will, because I love you." She replied.

"And I you."

We kissed again and embraced each other in a hug.

"Let's tell the boys!" She squealed, excitedly.

Author's note: I know this is short and I'm sorry. Also sorry this book is taking so long to finish. I'm really stressed with school and I can't seem to push myself to do any work. There's about two parts left to this story so to all still reading and waiting I hugely appreciate your loyalty to this book, as I have been writing this story (including the first book) since 2018, when I was 13 and I am now 16. You guys have the patience of saints for waiting for me to take a third of my teenage years writing this story.

I'm going to try and wrap this book up before May. Thank you for reading!
