Ethan
November

Aria giggled as I poured the warm water over her head. Emma wasn't home from running errands yet, and it was bath time for the baby.

"Awe. Does the water feel warm?" I asked, gently pouring more warm water from the cup. Aria laughed this time. She's so cute.

I felt Emma's arms around my shoulders from behind as she gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Aria cooed at the sight of her mom, and Emma kneeled down next to the bathtub before giving Aria a kiss on the cheek too. "Hey, cutie." Emma said. "How are you, little babe?"

Aria smiled as I lightly rinsed her off with the rest of the warm water in the cup.

Emma picked her up from the bath seat, and I dried her off with a towel. She smiled, all warm and wrapped in her little towel. I was fairly certain that Aria's favorite time of day was bath time.

Emma got her dressed into some pajamas, and we sat down on the couch for family quiet time.  My favorite time of day. Simply spending time at the end of the day with my two favorite girls in the world.

Emma gave Aria her bottle, and then I held her for a while. Aria always loved to cuddle since the moment she was born. One of our nicknames for her was snuggie bear.

Aria started falling asleep, but I was enjoying the cuddles. Emma was leaning against my shoulder, and Aria was laying in my arms.

I don't think I've ever felt more in love with my life.

We put Aria down in her crib, turning the baby monitor on, along with her nightlight. We figured out that she didn't like her room being pitch black about two weeks after we brought her home. Hence the nightlight.

After she was all settled in her room, Emma and I ate our dinner. It was simple. Just some mac and cheese. With a two month old, sometimes it's hard to get the energy to make a whole home cooked meal.

That being said, we've eaten a lot of mac and cheese since Aria was born.

Emma wrapped her arms around my waist, leaning her head against my chest. I put my arm around her and kissed her on the top of her head.

"How you doing, baby?" I asked.

"I'm tired." She said. "But I'm glad to be spending time with you."

I smiled as Emma raised onto her tiptoes to kiss me.

"Hey, my mom offered to babysit Aria this weekend. You and I could go somewhere."

Emma leaned her head on my chest again. "Why don't we have your mom take Aria, but you and I just stay here for the weekend? It'll be relaxing just to be at home together."

"We can do whatever you want, babe."

"Okay."

Emma

It was Thursday, which meant Ethan had to work.

So, it was just Aria and I at home.

I fed and changed her after she woke up, but she's been fussy all morning. She wasn't sick. No sign of fever, coughing or sneezing.

I tried reading to her, playing calming music, and I tried getting her to go back to sleep, which for some reason made her cry even more.

I tried giving her more milk, but she wouldn't take the bottle.

All day long she was fussy. Her crying tugged on my heart strings. I didn't want her to be sad. I just wanted to help.

Finally, Ethan got home from work, and Aria stopped being fussy as soon as he picked her up.

"Oh my goodness," I said.

"What?" Ethan asked.

"She's been fussy all day. I guess I didn't realize it was because she missed you."

Ethan smiled, kissing Aria on the cheek. "Awe. Did you miss me? I missed you."

She leaned her head on his chest, just like I always do. I love their bond.

Ethan carries her into the living room, and sat down on the couch before turning on a football game.

I sat down next to him, and we watched the game. I wasn't that interested in football, but Ethan was trying to get me more into it.

He loved football.

He played a little bit in high school, and of course I watched because I was his biggest fan.

You think Cam would be the one dragging me to her brother's sporting events, but I was probably the one dragging her there.

I loved watching football when Ethan was in high school. And I didn't mind watching it on tv with him now.

It just wasn't my favorite. I was more into baseball and hockey.

Hockey was my favorite because Ethan and I fell in love at a hockey game.

Baseball was my other favorite because Ethan used to play baseball. And he was one of the best players on his team in college. I went to a few of his games when we were dating my senior year.

Ethan had brought home a pizza, so I fed Aria her dinner before we ate ours. Then she started to fall asleep, so I held her for a while before laying her down in her crib.

I went back into the living room and curled up next to Ethan, who let me lay my head in his lap. His arm landed around my waist, and his thumb slipped under my shirt.

"You're doing such a great job, honey."

"Thanks, babe. I really needed that right now."

"Today was a rough day, wasn't it?"

"She just wouldn't stop crying. It made me sad because I couldn't figure out why. She wasn't sick, and she ate, so I knew she wasn't hungry. I tried reading to her, playing calming music. Everything. None of it worked until you got home, and she simply just needed you."

"Hey, that doesn't mean you're not doing a great job. I'm really proud of you. It was just a rough day. Tomorrow will be better. Maybe I'll call off, and we can spend the whole day together as a family."

I sat up, looking at Ethan. "You'd do that?"

"I'd do anything for you, my dear."

I pressed my lips to his, giving him a long peck. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, baby. More than you know."

"We're gonna be married a year from now."

"I know," Ethan said, linking his fingers with mine. "I can't wait for you to finally be my wife."

I laid my head back down in his lap. "Ethan, you're my biggest dream come true."

He kissed the top of my head. "Emma, you're mine too."
