Patrol became normal for Peter, he even started functioning at a few hours sleep "Miss Potts" their teacher says "Yes ma'am" she asks "Come here and solve this" "That's what you get for nearly falling asleep" Flash says "I'd like to see you function at an hour of sleep when you normally get three hours" she counters coolly while working out the question. When she finishes she turns to the teacher "And that's correct, but next time the shorter version will work" "Right, sorry" Skylar says. When the day is over Peter invites Sky over to his house "Aunt May, I brought an old friend" he says "Hello" Skylar says "I made cookies, do you want some?" "Of course, put them in the kitchen" May says "You've grown so much Sky. Your mother would be proud" "I'd rather not talk about my mother" she says "I'm not ready for that" "We'll be doing homework" Peter says "Of course, I'll call you both for dinner, will you be staying for the night?" "I can't, dad would be worried sick, but I'd love to stay for dinner". Dinner turns into watching a movie with the two, which in turn results in Sky falling asleep against Peter, who's also asleep "Peter time for bed" May says, making him mumble "But it's comfy" "And Sky has to go home" "No", still half asleep Peter wraps his arms better around his friend.
Sky wakes up thanks to an alarm going off outside and she sits up, utterly confused "How did I-", she stops when she remembers falling asleep and she sees a text from Tony, telling her to stay safe and that he had to leave for a mission. Peter is nowhere to be found so Sky sighs pressing a few buttons on her watch "Interesting, isn't it miss?" Jarvis asks "Yes, very" she says opening the window and jumping out as her suit starts covering her and she quickly arrives at the scene "Spiderman looks like he requires help" Jarvis offers, but it's ignored "No, he needs to be protected from that" Sky says and she blasts a giant builder to pieces "Who are you?" Spiderman asks "Shade" is the only answer he gets. The fight is easily won and Shade lands on the ground "I like your suit" he says "Partners?" "Not like anyone else is willing to partner with me" Shade says "So why not".
The next day Sky takes the newspaper and she chuckles seeing the headline "Is something amusing?" Jarvis asks "Check the news Jarvis" she says "I see they finally got a clear picture" the AI comments dryly "Ah that'll be Pepper". Pepper is worried sick "I'm fine" Sky says after a barrage of questions "Just arrived at school actually, I stayed with Peter, fell asleep while watching a movie" "Right, well, be careful, last night was a rough night in that neighborhood" "I will, see you after school, by the way, can I have a sleepover with friends soon?" Sky asks opening her locker "You know you can't Sky, I'll see you after school".
As it turns out Flash Thompson managed to invite everyone to his party "Hey Flash, is it always like this? I've had more interesting birthday parties as a kid" Skylar comments, it's a dull party "Well you didn't have to come" he says "It was this or being bored as hell at Stark Tower, maybe Loki is... nah, he doesn't have time for me" she mumbles the last part "Whatever, Peter we're gonna go and play video games with Bruce at Stark Tower" she says as she walks off, dragging Peter along with her, who mentions MJ and Ned come too. Bruce is more then happy with a distraction and MJ is looking around in wonder "I can't believe you live here" Ned says earning a shrug "More trouble then it's worth" Skylar mumbles "Can't ever have a normal sleepover" "That sucks" MJ says, halfway through their fifth Mario cart race they hear the sound of a jet landing, so Bruce and Skylar both head off "But the race" Ned says "It's important" Pepper explains. On the roof Tony is hugged tightly "Hey kiddo" he says hugging back "We got Nat back" "Med bay is prepared" Bruce says "Lemme hug her first" Natasha comments moving over to Tony and his daughter "Did you listen to everything I told you to Sky?" "I got friends" Skylar says mentioning to the three "And I took care of Tony and I helped Bruce get through the time without you" "Good job". Peter smiles slightly while the other two are surprised, especially when Thor picks her up with a smile "You have a big family" MJ eventually says when they leave "Yeah, big overprotective family" Skylar deadpans "You know Sky, you don't look like Pepper" Ned points out "I'm pretty sure you're thinking up weird theories that aren't correct anyway" Skylar comments "Adopted by Pepper and Tony?" MJ asks "No" Skylar says "Secretly Tony Stark's kid?" Ned asks "As if, he can't hold a lasting relationship" MJ says "As I said, theories that aren't correct" the young Stark mumbles as she walks off.
Peter looks confused "Does the sleepover still stand?" he asks running after her "Are they gonna fire more incorrect theories?" she asks "Probably" he says watching his two friends "Then no, I don't wanna talk about why I'm here". Peter stays anyway while Pepper brings the others home "Hey kiddo" Tony says when she's visiting him in the lab "Thought you wanted a sleepover" he says "Yeah, but having to listen about theories as to why I'm living here with Pepper and the Avengers, I'm not ready for that at all" she says. Tony puts his tools down and he pats the table, so she sits down next to project "Whenever you're ready to talk about it I will be there for you" he says "However, we can't keep this a secret forever, so what do you say we and the others start planning how we're going to reveal Tony Stark has a daughter who's been in the public all along?" "We could start a rumor" Bruce says from his workbench "Perfect, but how?" "Well we have Peter, he could start the rumor" Skylar says and she's hugged "You'll be fine kiddo, how about you stay in my room tonight?" "But Peter-" "Will be fine" Tony says.
That night Skylar is waiting for Tony to head off with the other Avengers before she heads out and once again, she finds Spiderman trying to break up a pretty big fight, so she jumps in to help out "Good to see you again" he says "Likewise" she says "But maybe we should stop meeting in the middle of fights?" she asks earning a laugh "I like that idea, duck!". They eventually win, but Iron Man shows up "Aren't you kids a bit young to be out here, fighting crime?" "We're fifteen" Peter says "You're still kids" Iron Man says "Next time, leave this to the adults". "But we can't just sit and watch, you can't be everywhere at once" Shade counters "Fine, small things" Iron Man says before he flies off again "Did we just get approval to stop small crimes in the entire city?" Spiderman asks "Yes" Shade says "Let's see what else they got!", Tony returns at three in the morning and he sees Skylar curled up on his bed "I'm sorry I worry you kiddo" he whispers laying down, luckily his tiredness makes him miss the obvious difference from when he left, around Skylar's knee, mostly hidden by her pajama pant, is bandage.
