"Hey dude what's up?" I asked Joe as I sat on my couch with my home phone held to my ear watching a movie I wasn't really into.

"Dude, I'm starting this really cool band, you know the singer from Arma Angelus?" Joe asked.

"Pete, right?" I asked not sure where this was heading.

"Yeah, he's agreed to play bass, and we have this really cool drummer and I was kind of wondering if you could sing?" He asked excitedly catching me off guard.

"Joe, just because my dad can sing doesn't mean I can. Why can't Pete sing or whatever?" I asked.

"I can't just start switching everyone on instruments, that's crazy. You can play guitar though, right?"

"I own one." I said. I had no Idea how to play guitar.

"Just give it a shot, I really don't want you to miss out on something this cool." He begged. I thought about it and I figured I probably could do this and being in a cool band would probably get the girl I liked's attention.

"Okay, so is there like an audition....or...?" I asked.

"We'll be over at your house on Saturday probably around noon." Joe said then hung up.

The realization sunk in that I only had two days to learn how to play guitar and sing. I quickly jumped off the couch knocking a bag of chips off my lap that I had forgotten they were even there.

"Mom?!?!" I called through the house. "I'm sorry I spilled chips in the floor can you clean it up? I'm in a hurry!" I didn't wait for her response instead I raced up the stairs to my room.

I picked up my acoustic guitar I always promised myself I'd learn how to play and just sat there with it a moment. I had no idea where to begin. Maybe I should write something, like a song maybe since I don't know how to play anything.

I played for four hours straight and became so frusterated I had to put the guitar down.

By day two I was just starting to figure it out. When I agreed to this I had no Idea how hard this would actually be. I didn't even bother asking myself if this girl was worth it or not, because when your a teenage boy its definatly worth it.

I had only one day left to figure out how to play guitar and learn to sing but I still had hope somehow.
