You know you can't tell them, but perhaps they can make you feel better about your current state. You walk into Hagrid's still with tears in your eyes and you can feel everyone staring at you. After a short amount of silence, Ron breaks the ice,"Well, whats wrong?" "Nothing," You say." I'm just having a bad day that's all." "It's ok, now let's go, we have class in 10 minutes. Bye, Hagrid." Hermione says. "Yeah, bye Hagrid," you say. You all leave Hagrid's and your feelings are hurt that your friends just brushed off your feelings like that. It made you feel exactly like what happened with Draco. Of course, it wasn't their fault, you didn't tell them the truth, how were they supposed to know?
You finish your day without talking to one single person. Sure, people looked at you weird, they could all see you weren't quite right, you knew that. You are always a moderately happy person who was nice to people who were nice to you. But that didn't seem to bother anyone else. You work your way to the library where you finish your studies. You were trying act as normal as possible, but that was difficult when you were practically on your death bed. How did I get so powerful? You ask yourself in fear. Maybe Dumbledore and Snape were right. I'm a danger to everyone else. I can barely control myself, bad things could end up happening. You tell yourself to stop thinking like that. You were trying to think of a solution. You wanted to get out of it alive. Maybe that's just it. You didn't want your memory to be a girl who "got expelled" when really you were killed by Snape. You didn't want people to be lied to like you lied to Draco, and Hermione, and Harry and Ron. You wanted it to be the truth, so people didn't question where you were and spent their whole life trying to look for you only to realize you died in your 4th year. You were a danger to them after all. You deserved to never see them again. All of these thoughts. Very heavy for a 14 year old. You were almost 15 though, your birthday would've been nice if your friends were there to celebrate it with you. You were going to leave Hogwarts, the place that saved you.
You leave the library and go to dinner without saying a word. You isolate yourself on the edge of the table so that no one would come and talk to you. Then, someone sits next to you and you know exactly who it is. "What is up with you today, Kat?" Draco asks. For once he was actually curious to what you were feeling. "What do you mean?" You shoot back. "You know damn well what I mean. You've been acting weird since you got back to the castle," Draco says. "No I haven't, I thought I told you to stay away from me. You only want to know how I'm doing when i'm showing there's something wrong. You're just going to have to wait," You say back to him. "What in the hell is that supposed to mean?" He asks you. You quickly get up from the table and walk back to the Slytherin common room.
You sit in your bed just thinking about everything. It was all too much for you. You were weak and you weren't afraid to admit it. Finally, everyone in the room was asleep and it was your time. You walk up to the window next to your bed and use a spell to make the window break. Luckily, no one heard. At least that's what you thought. You start crying and take one foot off the ledge. Nothing was holding you back. You wait a few seconds before releasing your right hand from the wall. You're about to take your last step when you feel those cold hands grab your waist back. You start struggling. "Get off me!" You scream at him." Please, just get off, Please!" "Shhh," Draco whispers." Calm down". You cry in his arms just hugging him for what seems like forever. No one woke up, no one except Draco. He just held you there letting you get his shirt soaking wet with your tears. He carries you away from the window and into the living room. You still sit there hugging him. "I love you," you whisper to him. But no response. You've finally stoped crying and you two just sit there staring at each other. "I'm sorry," Draco says. "For what,"you whisper back. "Not defending you in front of Crabbe, I was being an idiot and I'm sorry," He whispers into your eyes. "It's ok," you whisper back. He hugs you. You put your head in his lap and fall asleep. Thinking that he didn't ask you what's wrong. He just sat there and let you cry. You are grateful for that. Grateful for him being there for you. Grateful that he cared enough to try to help you.
The next day, you wake up in your bed and see that the Draco had fixed the window. There was no one in the room, which means everyone was already up and left. You check the time and holy hell, it was already 10:30. It was Saturday, so it was fine but you still missed Harry's quidditch game. You suspected that Draco turned off your alarm clock, but you didn't care. This was the best nights sleep you've had in a while. You look up to see Draco at the edge of your bed with food and water. "I brought you food, thought you might be hungry," He says. You nod your head because words don't come out of your mouth at that moment. Draco brings you the food and sits next to you under the covers. After you're done eating, you tell Draco that Dumbledore was going to kill you and explained why. Draco told you to stand up to Dumbledore, and that you weren't in any danger to anyone. "You bloody scared me last night," He says." What the hell were you doing? I might not be the best at understanding or replying to your feelings, but I'm sure as hell a good listener." Draco says to you. "I was leaving, I know it might not look like it but trust me I. I just didn't want to be seen in the hallways," you say back. He believed you which you didn't think he would. But, it was the truth after all. He hugs you and you smile at him and then he leaves your room. You get up and get ready to go to Dumbledore. You get to his office and knock on the door.
"What a wonderful surprise," Dumbledore says. "I bet," You say back." Listen, I heard you, Snape, and McGonagall talking here the other day and I just wanted to say that I'm nothing like Voldemort. He was thirsty for power and he was a horrible person. Not to sound cocky, but I'm one of the nicest people in Slytherin. I have my power because I know I won't use it for bad. I believe I'm not a danger to Hogwarts, nor to anyone in this universe." "I see," Dumbledore starts." Well, Kat, you weren't meant to hear that conversation yesterday, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. We were only planning on sending you back to the muggle world. We believed that with what you are capable of, you could seriously do damage if convinced so." He gives you this worrying look like he's lying straight to your face. You're not stupid, you sense it. "No you weren't, you were going to kill me, weren't you, Dumbledore. You didn't believe that I had any good in me and believed I would have the same fate as Tom Riddle. You didn't even want to see who I was. I promise you, you have nothing to worry about," You harshly spoke. Dumbledore grabs his wand and then quickly grabs your hand. He flicks his wand and there is a gold string tying your hands together. It looks like he's making you tell the truth and keep a promise. Dumbledore calmly speaks," Do you promise you won't use your magic for bad and won't jeopardize Hogwarts, that you will use your magic for good, to help your peers," "I promise," You speak. The spell ends and your promise is sealed. You knew that your magic would only be used for good.
You walk out of Dumbledore's office and see Draco standing there. You run up to him and jump into his arms. You can feel his warms chest against yours. You feel safe for a brief moment. "Come to the lake with me," Draco says. "Ok," you say back. You two walk to the lake and stand on the grass right next to the glistening water. Draco puts out his hand and his broomstick quickly zooms right into his grip. He looks over to you and gives you his smirk. That damn smirk. You say to yourself. You two hop on his broomstick and you surprisingly weren't scared in the slightest. You two were always going to be safe around one another and you both knew it for a fact. He takes off with you gripping tightly to his waist. You weren't going to be falling in this water. You fly with him resting your chin on his shoulder for most of the ride. The view was insane and the person in front of you was the only person you wanted to be with in that moment. You finally felt ok, like everything was in line and your life was picture perfect.
That's chapter 3, I hoped you like it and if you didn't, that's ok too. I love to hear comments, I will be doing a part 4 so be ready!
