day 8

the one day she's not here- and it's the day after a break down. I need to see her, I need to know why she isn't here. I hope she hadn't actually done anything but-

today's the 4th

"It's the fourth, Mr. Shoe, please I need to be excused." I plead with my teacher. I asked him if I could speak to him outside the classroom, once my realiziation set in. I hoped I waas wrong, that she was just sick at home and she hadn't really did anything.

"Ashton, that's not a loyal excuse," Mr Shoe gives me a disapproving look. If I tell him it's Ella, he might send someone else to go, and I would miss seeing her- whether alive or...

"Ella's not here today- the one day out of the whole time she's not here, Mr. Shoe please tell me you understand!" The look on his face made my heart sink. The look of regret, longing not to tell me. "Wait, no... Mr. Shoe please tell me no," I plead once again.

"Ashton, I knew you were going to act like this," his own eyes are filling up with tears. "She's gone, buddy."

A wail I hardly recognized as mine escaped my lips as I sank to the ground, my face crumpling with tears. Mr. Shoe tried to put his hand on my shoulder, but thought better of it. He knew to leave me alone while I sobbed my heart out. "Why?" I yelled. "Why did she leave me?"

"Ashton, I'm not going to tell you that everything is going to be okay, because obviously for you, it won't. But you can't follow her; think about her. If you left, would you want her to kill herself to be with you?"

"Yes," I sniffled. "I didn't get much time with her, I want her back."

"That's not the point. The point is, she would want you to stay here and try to cope with her missing." Mr Shoe was trying to stay calm, but it hurt him almost as it hit me. Tears were streaming consistently down his face.

"I just don't understand why heaven wanted my angel."
