Victor continued to irritatingly talk, as I just ignored him, and enjoyed my cigarette.

"Who hurt you?"

That comment pricked my curiosity, as I locked eyes with him.

"So that gets you're attention-"

"Why do men always assume something is wrong with me? What do you want, some girl to fawn her feelings every which way so you can pick up the pieces?"

"There's nothing wrong with expressing emotions."

Letting out a dry sigh, I dropped, then stomped out my cigarette.

"Look I'm done, so do you need a ride back or not?"

Victor scoffed then, pulling out his phone, saying.

"I'm sure I can get an Uber."

"Great, bye."

I said walking to my car, reaching for my keys they weren't in my pocket. Glaring at Victor, his smile was misplaced, as I pulled out my mace again.

"Give me the keys."

"Not until you tell me you're name."

"I will mace you in one eye just to spite you, give me the keys."

I said with a hint of anger on my voice, stepping up to him. Victor just continued to smile, as I kept my word, and sprayed mace in his left eye. Victor winced holding it as I caught the keys from his hand, but he hugged me from the back. He was persistent, really persistent, so I said.

"Fine, my name is Tris."

Victor let go, as his pained groans stopped me from leaving him. Reaching in my back seat, I got some milk spray and spritz some on his left eye. Before climbing into the driver seat.

"Thanks-"

"I'll spray mace in the right if you don't back up."

Victor just laughed at that, as I mocked his laugh, backing out of the space before actually driving home. Pulling into my driveway, I parked, feeling something like a smile crawl onto my face.

"No, this is the trap, stop."

Forcing the smile away, I climbed into the backseat reordering the inside of my murse. Cops pulled up into my driveway, so I slowly crept out of the car, keeping my hands visible.

"There is a call that you kidnapped Victor Sanchez is that true?"

"No, he asked for a ride and I gave it to him. He took an Uber home."

The lawyers, from their suits that I can now see up close, were right behind the officer glares as sharp as daggers.

"She's clearly lying officer-"

"You can check anything and everything of mine, I can come with you to the station if you'd like."

I said holding my wrists out, as the officer's attention was taken by his walker talkie. He muttered a bit, as the lawyers scoffed while looking at their phones.

"No need for that ma'am, everything you say checks out, but try not to associate with him too much from now on. He's a part of a murder investigation."

"Really? Okay, roger that, thank you officer."

Sending the officer a smile, he returned it, as he drove the lawyers off my driveway and left. Pulling my murse over my shoulder. I made it through my door, before closing it and busted out laughing. The lawyers faces were priceless. Once my laugh died down, I got up and moved to my kitchen.

"Victor's a dick, but if he really didn't kill his wife, I wonder who did-"

Shaking my head I quickly destroyed that thought. Opening the fridge, I pulled out a carton of milk, placing it on the counter or island. There's no way I'm working with Victor, I'd rather get fired. I poured some milk into a glass cup, returning the carton to the fridge before closing it. Rubbing the rim of the cup with my finger, the still sound reminded me of Victor's eyes. How long was I staring at them for?

"Now that's a look I haven't seen before."

Jumping out of my skin, I sipped some milk down my throat before saying.

"Go away."

I said to my sister Emily, I thought I changed the locks?

"No way, you're birthday is coming up."

"It is not-"

Checking my calendar it actually was coming up, a Friday no less too. Three days before complete humiliation.

"Again, how did you get in here?"

"Oh you didn't lock the door."

Dipping my head, I pushed Emily towards the door seeing I didn't lock it after all, then opened it.

"Hey-"

"See you on Friday."

Before slamming the door closed on Emily, actually locking it this time. A yawn slipped out of me, it's been a long night. Pulling my phone out of my murse, I walked into my bedroom, putting in on the charger before moving to my bathroom. I showered then changed into a nightgown, dimming my lights down.

"Hmm, please don't dream about Victor..."

I muttered sleepily, before slamming onto the bed headfirst. I twisted for a little while before falling asleep, humming a bit. Something like waves swished back and forth causing my eyes to flutter open. I sat up on my bed, or at least what I thought was my bed, I was in the middle of the sea. Feeling a presence rush over my body, Victor was towering over me, hands on my own with his head inches from mine. For a moment I thought he would kiss me, but he just looked at me. Just a still genuine look, as I returned it, looking at those sea filled eyes once again. It was sucking me in more and more, I could smell the salt, feel the sand in between my toes. Then my phone alarm beeping pulled me out of the dream at 3am, as I sat up under the covers, a little sweat on my brow.

"That was..."

I couldn't really finish my sentence, it was intimate, but there was no sex involved. It caused my thoughts to halt like nothing else, as I licked my bottom lip. Moving to my bathroom, I splashed water on my face, leaning my hands on the sink. Making eye contact with myself in the mirror, is that a blush? Okay now that's pathetic.
