"Sorry Em, I'm not really here for you."

"What?-"

"She's here for Tris, meet you're new girlfriend."

Now I was in a position to either let this girl be a toy, or actually admit I like Victor. But considering they both just glossed over Emily, my pride can be stoned.

"No way, I found a guy that I like."

After a small pause both Mom and Dad laughed at me, as Emily stepped close to me.

"It's true! But how could you lie to me Spencer?! You're my best friend, I brought you here-"

"I'm sorry, they paid me well."

Emily scoffed, as I took her hand, making eye contact.

"Do you want to go?"

"Where?"

"Anywhere but here."

"That's our plan, just take Spencer with you-"

"I won't."

Now the tension was high, as me and Mom made eye contact this time, I crossed my arms.

"You hate men, what am I supposed to do?"

"Like I said, I found one, and how could you manipulate Emily like that? You like her."

"We love her, we hate you."

That comment from my Dad quieted the room, I would feel some type of way but I hate them back.

"Great, so stop trying to change me, dumbass."

And with that, I grabbed Emily's hand and walked out. Slamming the door, I continued to my front yard then stopped. Reaching into my dress pocket, pulling out my phone.

"Hey that wasn't right what he said-"

"No it is, don't worry about me, I figured that out long before he said that today..."

Scrolling through local bars, none were close, and considering it's already 2 minutes from midnight I don't want to go to far.

"It's just one night Tris."

"They manipulated you, gossiped about my Uncle, have the nerve to comment on my sexual choices-"

Emily saw that I was getting angrier by the second, so she grabbed my arms and shook for my attention.

"It's you're house isn't it? They'll leave on their own."

I was about to retort, but she had a really good point.

"Be prepared they might give you something to loosen up for Spencer."

"True, you got my back?"

"You know it sis."

Fist bumping again, we walked back in to see my living room turned into a dance floor, scattered lights and everything. Mom was right on time blowing something like powder into my face. Emily dodged it, but I was too close, breathing in whatever drug it was. Exhaling slowly, I shook my head, seeing my hair was a little prettier than usual.

"You look better-"

"Don't start with me Spen..."

A small groan slipped out of me, now the drug was actually kicking in. On cue Spencer took my hand, pulling me into the middle of this make shift dance floor. Dua Lipa "Don't Start Now" started to play, pulling my thoughts apart, as Spencer rubbed her hands down my lower back.

"If you'll let me, you can have the best birthday party you've ever had."

Pulling me to her chest, Spencer rubbed her nose on my own, as I closed my eyes sniffing in her perfume, before fluttering them back open. My hands instinctively moved to her chin, gently rubbing my thumb across her lips, unexpectedly she pulled it into her mouth with her tongue. Sucking on it like a baby, it was really hot to see her do that, and she knew from the lustful look I was giving her that I wanted her back. Moving my hands to her neck, I leaned in and kissed her first. She kissed back just as quick, slipping her hands down my waist to my butt. This was my favorite part of the song, so I pulled away and sung along.

"Raise your arms up."

Spencer said, as I did, looking up at my decorated ceiling of lights. Slightly giggling. It turned into a stalled moan, as Spencer moved to kiss my neck wrapping her arms around my back. Placing my arms on her shoulders, I arched my head back, swaying with her to the beat.

"Why does this feel so good?..."

"Have you ever been touched before like this?"

"No, I'm a 28 year old virgin..."

She didn't laugh but I did, no mate male or female has ever touched me.

"Well I'll be happy to relieve you of the mantle-"

"No way, I'd rather keep it up."

Spencer got way too quiet, which wasn't a good sign, and she suddenly threw me down onto the ground. Trying to rip my clothes off, my fight instincts kicked in, as I kicked her off. Before punching her into my glass table. That's right, into my glass table. Everything got quiet again, and I knew a big argument was coming, but the ring was back and coming with a vengeance.

"Tris? Tris what is it?"

Emily said, but I couldn't respond.

"I..."

I winced holding my head, as I pushed past people toward the door, and my parents blocked the way.

"Congratulations you proved you're point now-"

"Move, trust me, I'm not stable right now."

"You've never been stable..."

I looked past them to see the child again, it was the younger me. I didn't like where this was going, but giving in to it might make the ultimate difference. Speaking of, the younger me noticed I wasn't fighting anymore, so she nodded to follow her. I did and she stopped at my front door, pointing at the door knob. Slowly twisting it, my trembling hands were betraying me.

"It's okay."

The younger me said, gently taking my hands into her tiny ones. Helping me open the door, as I walked through. Suddenly I was back in my old house, but something was different, something was wrong. Voices preceded down the hallway, as I saw my second sister hit the floor with a thud, her abusive husband kicking her teeth into the wood. When I was young I heard her scream from my bedroom, I was only 4. Hearing rope being tied, I blinked to be standing next to the fourth, she committed suicide-

"I can't do this, I can't."

Gasping, I saw her trying to pull the noose off, but the step stool she was on went. Placing my ear under her, I heard her scream "no" become still in the kitchen, gagging became quiet, I was 10. That's when the ringing started. Now instead of finding my younger self, I was her. Reliving every moment in that house, from death to overdose. None of it ever touched me until one day.

"You're a disgrace! Get out or I'll blow your head off!"

Flinching I heard the pistol click from here, my brothers about to be exiled. That's when bullets pierced over my head, I whimpered, my heartbeat soaring into my throat. I screamed out long and hard, but it was an inaudible. Suddenly someone or something was dragging me from the legs, I continued to scream, trying to hold onto to a chair or door frame. My grip was never solid, once in their arms I continued to fight, I couldn't stop screaming. Everything was flooding out at once and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
