Chapter 8: Blue With Envy

You cleared your throat, looking down at the table as you sat across from Mr. Agreste. Of course, it was rare to see the man, and so to be sitting across from one of the most famous people in Paris was a big moment for you. However, you never really had an interest in fashion- the only reason you really knew anything about him as because he was in nearly every magazine you happened to read. 

Gabriel looked at the ring intently, before slipping it onto his finger. You jumped as a- what was that thing? A cat?... bug?... thing... flew out of the ring, its green eyes wide as it looked up at Gabriel. 

"With the ring of destruction finally in my grasp- Ladybug's earrings are practically already mine. It will be mere child's play to take them as well." Gabriel chuckled rather darkly. "-And you're going to help me, little kwami."

Natalie, however, was sitting in her office nook in Gabriel's studio, her tablet gripped tightly in her hand. Dropping the tablet on the desk, she stood and walked over to the painting, moving it to expose the safe. She opened the safe, and grabbed the peacock miraculous. 

Natalie was not about to be cast aside for some random nobody who got lucky and was able to get the miraculous.

Putting the miraculous on her sweater, Duusu appeared next to her, and looked at Natalie for a moment.

"Someone seems a little jealous-"

"This time- im going to get that miraculous."

"Didn't you end up getting thrown off of a building, and had to have Hawk Moth come and save you last time you tried that?"

Natalie glared at Duusu, who chuckled awkwardly before speaking again.

"Second time's a charm!"

Natalie gave a brief nod in agreement.

"Duusu, spread my feathers."

--- Meanwhile, with Adrien ---

Ladybug looked over at Adrien, before running off to grab the blindfold she had conjured earlier. She'd have to let them get away if she wanted to be able to save Cat Noir- er- Adrien.

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

The ladybugs flew around, fixing most of the damage, which was minimal this time around. She looked over at Adrien as the ladybugs healed his arm, now bent the right way around- although his hand was still ringless. 

He looked over at Ladybug- his eyes holding fear within them.

"M'lady... I.. never planned to have my identity revealed to you... especially not like this..."

Adrien was at a large loss for words. Having gotten his miraculous taken, he felt disappointed in himself for letting Ladybug down.

Ladybug on the other hand was in shock- Having suddenly realized that her crush had been flirting with her for all this time- and having realized that she had turned down his several attempts at sparking a romance- it was a lot for her to process, and a deep blush rose to her face.

"I-I.. Cat No- I mean- Adrien... we've got to get your miraculous back, before Hawk Moth uses it for evi-" 

She paused mid sentence, spotting something in the distance- and it wasnt pleasant.

"Oh no.."

Ladybug's eye's widened, causing Adrien to also turn and look in curiosity.

"What is that?"

The chapter was a bit shorter than I would like- but I hope you're enjoying it regardless! :D The story's progressing at a decent pace- and personally i think you're going to enjoy what I have in store.
