CH.12 HOMECOMING DANCE

Pacey got his driver's license the same week of the homecoming dance but he didn't tell Joey or Dawson because he wanted to surprise them when he picked them up from Dawson's house and driving them to the dance.

When he got to Dawson's house he seen Dawson's parents taking pictures of Dawson and Jo. He wondered where Jen was. Joey and Dawson turned to see who had pulled up and when they seen Pacey step out of the truck, you could see from the look on their faces how suprised they were.

"Hey Pacey nice truck. Now get over here so we can get some pictures of you and Joey together" Mr. Leery said.
Pacey rushed to Joey's side. As he was putting his arm around her waist he whispered in her ear "you look beautiful Jo." Joey smiled up at him and said "thank you Pace. You look handsome." Pacey bent down and kissed her cheek. Lately whenever Pacey kissed or touched her, she got all tingly inside."Awww what a cute pic that's going to be" Mrs. Leery said

"Dawson where's Jen?" Asked Mrs. Leery. "I'm here Mrs. Leery" Jen said as she was walking up. "Dawson stand with Jen so that I can get some pictures of you two" Mrs. Leery said. After they were finished taking pictures Dawson's dad said "midnight Dawson and not a minute later." "Yes sir and thank you mom and dad for letting me go."

Pacey took Joey's hand and led her to the passenger side and opened the door for her. Dawson and Jen got in the back seat. "Pacey when did you get this truck?" Dawson asked. Pacey grabbed Joey's hand and brought it to his lips. "My dad took me to get my driver's license Wednesday and today he suprised me with this truck. I thought he was just going to let me use his. When I went to the garage this truck was there. I hadn't noticed but dad had came up behind me. He said here you go son. Now you have to get a job so that you can pay for your own gas and keep the insurance up. I filled it up for you and I paid a couple of months on the insurance but after that's up you're on your own. I trust that you make good decisions from now on. Then he gave me the keys. I didn't want to tell you or Joey because I wanted to surprise you," "You sure did surprise us" Joey said. "Dude you're so lucky" Dawson said."Congrats Pacey" Jen said as she was pulling a flask out and taking a drink. "Anybody else want a drink" Jen offered. "Jen are you trying to get me grounded for life?" Dawson asked. "No thanks Jen" Joey said. "Fine more for me" Jen said.

They pulled into the school's gym parking lot where the homecoming dance was being held. "Jo let's sit here a minute before going in. Dawson you and Jen go on in. I need to talk to Joey." Pacey said. As soon as they were gone he grabbed Joey almost pulling her onto his lap and said "I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw you in that dress." He gave her a deep and passionate kiss. They were both breathless when they finally pulled their lips apart. "Pacey, wow" Joey said still trying to catch her breath. "Wow is right Jo. Shall we go inside now my lady." Joey started to open her door but Pacey stopped her and said "hold on I'll come around and open the door for you."

Pacey opened her door and offered his hand to help her out. He put her arm through is and led her into the dance.

Once inside they seen Jen and Dawson on the dance floor and Joey asked Pacey if he wanted to dance. "How about we get some punch first. That kiss left me parched" he said while smiling at her.

Pacey and Joey made their way to the table with the punch bowl and Pacey filled two cups. He handed one to Joey and said "here you go beautiful." She gladly accepted the cup and took a drink. "Pacey this punch tastes funny" Joey said. Pacey took a sip of his and said " it's been spiked Jo, gotta be careful with it. We don't want a repeat of Dawson's party." They took a few more sips and threw the rest away.

A slow song started and Pacey took Joey's hand, he led her to the dance floor. Pacey pulled Joey in close to him and Joey layed her head on his shoulder. "Jo you feel so good in my arms" Pacey said. Someone bumped into them and Pacey turned around to see who it was. It was Jen and Dawson. "Hey guys, I see that you two lovebirds finally made it inside" Dawson said smiling at them. Daw...sonn I have hiccups" Jen said between hiccups. Can we get some punch?" "Be careful with the punch guys, it's spiked" Pacey said. "Really" Jen said happily. She didn't even wait for Dawson. She just turned and headed for the punch. Of course Dawson followed behind because he knew she was already a little tipsy. Jen filled a cup to the top and downed it. She started to fill the cup up again but Dawson stopped her, took the cup from her hand and said "Jen don't you think you've had enough alcohol for the night?" Jen started pouting and said "Daw.....sonnn don't be suchhh aaa partyyyy pooperrrr." He took Jen's hand and started leading her to the door. He knew he had to get her out of there. "I needddd tooo peeee" Jen slurred again. "Ok you go to the bathroom. While you're in there I'll get Pacey and Joey so that we can leave."
