CH.20 SURPRISE BABY SHOWER

"Jo are you ready yet?" Pacey asked. Pacey had saved enough money to pay for a 3D ultrasound of the baby. He surprised Joey with an appointment today. Today was going to be full of surprises.

As soon as Pacey and Joey left Bessie called Dawson to tell him it was clear. Dawson, Jen, Jack and Andi were going to come over and set up for the baby shower while Pacey and Joey were out.

"Pace I can't believe you made us an appointment to see our baby in 3D. You know how bad I wanted one and you made it happen. I love you Pace. You're the best boyfriend/baby daddy a girl could ask for. "Jo I would do anything for you and try my best to give you your heart's desire. Shall we go in now and see our son?" "We shall, I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for you before we went in." Joey leaned across the seat and gently kissed Pacey on the cheek. "Come here girl" Pacey said reaching for her to pull her closer to him and kissed her full on the lips. "Now that's what I call a kiss" he said.

Pacey got out of the truck and walked around to Joey's side to help her out. As the pregnancy progressed she was needing more and more help with that lately. They walked hand in hand into the office.

Joey and Pacey walked up to the receptionist and signed in for their appointment. The receptionist said "Mrs. White will be with you shortly."

As soon as they were seated an older lady was calling them into the exam room. "I'm Mrs. White and I will be viewing your baby today. Let's go see who that youngin of yours looks like" she said as Joey and Pacey walked into the room.

"Alright mommy, you have a seat up on the table and daddy you have a seat by mommy in that chair. "Do we already know the gender of the baby?" "Yes mam, it's a boy" Pacey proudly said.

Joey was laying there anticipating the cold gel that would be squeezed onto her belly but to her astonishment when Mrs. White squeezed the bottle the gel was warm.

"Ahh look a there, it is definitely a boy" Mrs. White said smiling. She moved the wand and baby's face came into full focus. Joey had tears in her eyes when she looked at Pacey and said "our son looks like his daddy." Pacey seeing the baby's face had also became teary eyed.

Pacey excused himself when Mrs. White started cleaning Joey up. He walked up to the receptionist to ask if could use the phone. She obliged and handed him the phone.

He called Bessie to ask how longer they needed to get everything set up. "Everything is just about done. Bodie just left to pick up the cake and should be back shortly. Go get some lunch and by the time you're done eating, it should be safe to return home. "Ok Bess we just got done with the ultrasound and Mrs. White is printing some pictures and cleaning Joey up." "Who does he look like?" Bessie asked. "I'll let the picture speak for itself" Pacey said laughing. "Gotta go see you in a bit." "See you in a bit" Bessie said.

Pacey hung the phone up and handed it back to the receptionist. "Thank you for letting me use it" he said.

He was reaching for the door knob when it opened and Mrs. White with Joey behind her stepped out. Mrs. White handed Joey the ultrasound pictures and shook their hands. "Congratulations mommy and daddy."

Pacey took Joey's hand and led her to the truck. Once they were both in the truck Pacey asked Joey if she was hungry. "Pace you know I'm always hungry since..." she said pointing to her pregnant tummy.

"What does mommy want to eat or should I say what does Pacey Jr. want to eat?" They both laughed. "Umm mommy wants mexican food." "Your wish is my command."

Once they were seated inside their favorite Mexican restaurant, Joey pulles the pictures out and started looking at them. She handed one to Pacey and said "can you believe we made this beautiful little person Pace? I can't wait til he's in my arms. We need to start buying stuff Pace. He's going to be here in eight weeks."
