HAPPILY EVER AFTER

CH.1 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today was the first day of high school and Joey couldnt be more exited. She was so excited and nervous that she couldnt even eat the breakfast that her sister had made. "Bessie are you ready?" "Joey please let me finish my coffee." "Come on Bess lets go." "Ok Joey since you cant sit down for five minutes. "Lets go!"

"Have a great first day Jo" Bessie said as Joey got out of the truck. "Thanks Bess and I hope you have a great doctor's visit. Bessie was five months pregnant with Joey's nephew. "Im sure everything will be just fine." Bessie said. "Gotta go find Dawson." Dawson and Joey has been best friends since the first day they could remember, since they only lived down the creek from each other. "Love ya Bess." Joey hollered over her shoulder as took she off in search of Dawson. "Love ya too Joey and Jo be sure to come straight home after school I want to hear all about your first day." Yelled Bessie to Joey's backside.

Joey found Dawson standing with a girl she had never seen before and a guy that looked vaguely familiar. She walked up and touched Dawson on the shoulder. "Hey Dawson" she said. "Oh hey Joey, let me introduce you to the lovely Jennifer Lindley. She just moved next door to me with her grandma." Joey stretched out her hand to Jennifer and said "nice to meet you Jennifer". Jennifer took Joey's hand and said "nice to meet you also, but please just call me Jen."So now that you've met Jen, this here fellow showed up on my doorstep last night. You remember him dont you Joey, Dawson asked." Joey looked over at him she knew he looked familiar, then it hit her "oh my god is that you Pacey Witter" said Joey. "It is I miss Joey Potter" said Pacey.

Joey couldnt believe this was the same scrawny little boy that had left six years ago, man had he grown up. Now he has thick wavy brown hair and very broad shoulders for a 15 year old. Her breath caught in her throat as she continued to admire him.

Dawson cleared his throat which inadvertently broke Joey's trance. To Dawson's dismay Pacey was staring at Joey just as intensely. "Pacey and his family moved back to Capeside so that his dad can take over the sheriff's office. Mr. Witter is now the new sheriff of the town." Daswon said. "Nice to you have back Pacey," Joey said. Pacey was about to say something to Joey, but the bell ranged. "Well ladies and gentlemen is everybody ready to start their high school careers" Dawson asked.

They all walked to class together, Pacey and Joey in front and Dawson and Jen trailing in the back. Seeing they all had the same first class. Pacey couldn't keep his eyes off Joey. He couldn't believe this brown hair and brown eyed girl was the same 9 year old tomboy he left six years ago. He was so transfixed that he didnt even respond when his name was called. Dawson looked back to see why he didnt answer and seen him staring at Joey, his Joey. "Dude the teacher called you" Dawson whispered to him. Hearing Dawson he finally broke his trance on Joey.

Dawson didn't know what to think seeing Pacey ogling Joey so bad. He had been in love with Joey since he was 13 and he felt pretty sure she felt the same way. Now though his mind and eyes wandered to the blonde headed girl in front of him.

Joey was trying so hard to pay attention to the teacher but couldn't help to think about Pacey. Where is this coming from she thought. Dawson had been her one true love ever since she could remember.

Jen sat up front thinking about the 3 people that she had just met. Dawson sure was cute and so was Pacey. She had to find out more about these 3 people. She knew there had to be some history there.

Finally the bell rang for lunch. Joey was the first to enter the cafeteria then Jen, Pacey and last Dawson. They were all seated around the same lunch table when Joey spoke up and asked "so Dawson movie night tonight"? "Yeah sure why don't you come over Jen and you come too Pacey". Joey didnt know how she felt about this because this had been her and Dawson's thing. "What time" Pacey said. "Oh how about 8 o'clock, sound good Joey" Dawson asked. "Sounds good Dawson" replied Joey not wanting to meet his eyes. "Yeah I'll be there too" Jen said.
