The Life Changing Trip

Chapter One

* Renee's POV*

I was upstairs in my room, packing for my trip down to Florida. I lived in Boone, North Carolina up in the mountains in a cabin. My cousin, Megan, lived in Orlando, Florida and every year, I would visit her for a month and then she would come back with me to North Carolina for a month. We did this every summer.

This year, I was allowed to bring a friend, so I decided to ask my best friend, Hayley, to come with me. She lived a little bit past my cabin, more up the mountain.

This trip down to Orlando, Megan had the idea of going to Magcon. We all wanted to go, but couldn't find the right time. We bought tickets for the night after we get there.

Hayley and I were flying down, since my mom didn't want me to take all day to drive, especially since I'm not that bright with directions.

The flight was leaving tomorrow morning and when we get to Orlando, we will have time to unpack and settle in, maybe go to the beach.

When I pack, I literally pack everything in my closet whenever I go on a trip. It's crazy.

I walk into my closet, flipping through shirts. I finally pull out a gray shirt with Pikachu on it, a pink peplum top, and a tribal printed, black and white crop top.

I bring them to my seafoam green suuitcase, which I had gotten for Christmas. I fold the three shirts and place them on top of other shirts I was packing. Then, I walk back to the closet and think of what to pack.

I pick out a coral colored knee-length dress with a cutout in the back of the dress, it was a triangle kinda. The dress was really pretty, plus it was covered in a lacy material, the same coral color so it blended with the fabric. I take it off the hanger and fold it the best I could and pack it into the suitcase. 

I pack more clothes and then look at shoes. Vans, converse, heels, boots and sandals.

I pick up my silverish cowgirl boots. Packing them. They are one of my faves. 

I decide to pass on heels, if we go somewhere nice and fancy, Meg can give some of hers to me to borrow. I pick up  a nude pair of gladiator-type sandals. I pack them.

I'm more of a vans/converse person, so I pack the most of those I can pack. Of course, I pack flipflops. 

After a tiring time of packing, I text Hayley that she could come over. Hayley was spending the night tonight, so my mom could just leave tomorrow in the morning. The flight left at 11:30 AM and since we live in Boone, we are going to have to drive to the Bristol, Tennessee Tri-Cities Regional Airport. It was an hour and a half drive, so we planned on leaving around 8:00 AM and spend some time in Tennessee before the flight leaves. 

I run down my stairs and wait for Hayley. Knowing her, she might just walk, which takes a while.

My mom walks into the cabin. I had no idea she had left.

"Hey, sorry, I thought you were busy upstairs. I just took a quick drive to the FoodLion down the road. I got you and Hayley some snacks," My mom sets a bag on the marble table. FoodLion was just a local grocery store and it was about 10 minutes away, down the mountain.

"Thanks. I just got finished packing," I reply before walking onto the patio in my notsomuch backyard, which overlooked the mountains and ski resorts. I didn't really have a backyard, well if you count rocks as a yard...? 

About five minutes later, when I walk in, I hear a knock on the door. I walk up to get it. Hayley.

"Hey! Are you excited for tomorrow?" I ask.

"Yea! I can't wait to go meet Megan again and go to Magcon and the beaches and go to Florida in general," Hayley walks in smiling. 

"Same. Want to ask if we can order pizza? I'm starving," I ask.

"Sure," Hayley had her suitcase with her and just sets it near the door. 

I ask my mom to order some pizza and she does, so Hayley and I go up to my room to wait.

After watching two episodes of Full House on my tv, the pizza was here. We eat it at the table with my mom and then go upstairs to finish watching more Full House and fall asleep.
