* Renee's Pov *

Later that night, I received a text from Reed.

(M-Me, R-Reed)

R: hey can you come down to the beach?

M: yea. why

R: i want to practice some songs and i was wondering if you wanted to sing with me

M: sure! I would love to!

I put my phone in my pocket and walk down the stairs. My aunt and uncle were working so I told Megan and Hayley I was going for a jog on the beach. They say okay in sync and I walk out the house. I walk down to the boardwalk thing to get onto the beach and I walk down to Reed's hotel area.

I see him sitting on a rock, strumming his guitar.

"Hey," I say and he looks up.

"Hey," he smiles.

"So what song?" I ask.

"Well, I was thinking about a couple of songs. "I'm not the Only One" by Sam Smith and "Maps" by Maroon 5." He replies.

"I love both those songs. Lets try Sam Smith first," I sit down on a rock next to him.

"Okay. You start the first verse," Reed starts strumming the tune to "I'm not the Only One."

"You and me, we made a vow. For better or for worse. I can't believe you let me down, but the proof's in the way it hurts," I sing.

People walking on the beach, children, adults and teens, started to crowd around us, watching us practice. Some were video taping us.

"For months on end I've had my doubts. Denying every tear. I wish this would be over now, but I know that I still need you here," I continue singing.

"You say I'm crazy. 'Cause you don't think I know what you've done, but when you call me baby, I know I'm not the only one. You've been so unavailable. Now sadly I know why
your heart is unobtainable. Even though Lord knows you kept mine," Reed and I sing together.

We finish the song and people clap and cheer for us. Reed starts playing Maps.

"I miss the taste of a sweeter life
I miss the conversation
I'm searching for a song tonight
I'm changing all of the stations

I like to think that we had it all
We drew a map to a better place
But on that road I took a fall
Oh baby why did you run away?

I was there for you
In your darkest times
I was there for you
In your darkest nights," He sings.

" But I wonder where were you? When I was at my worst, down on my knees and you said you had my back, So I wonder where were you? When all the roads you took came back to me," I sing.

"So I'm following the map that leads to you. The map that leads to you. Ain't nothing I can do. The map that leads to you. Following, following, following to you. The map that leads to you. Ain't nothing I can do. The map that leads to you. Following, following, following," we sing together.

We were both standing now and finishing up the song.

When it was over, people clap and Reed gives me a hug. He had his hands on my waist and unexpectedly, he kisses my lips.

I don't kiss him back. Doesn't he know I'm with Grayson? Or had Grayson never told him yet?

"What's wrong," He asks after kissing me.

"Nothing," I sigh.

"Okay," He kisses my cheek, "Do you want to go back to my hotel for a while?"

"I should be getting back to my cousin's house, but sure," I shrug.

We walk back as people walk past us.

It wasn't that far away and when we get there, mouth drops. The hotel was beautiful. The outside walls of the hotel was white and on the inside it was gold with splashes of greens and blues in the furnitures. In the lobby there was one big chandelier.

Reed leads me to the elevator, but I was a little behind because I was looking at everything. We go all the way up to the 12th floor, where their room was.

"Where is everyone," I ask as we walk in.

"They went shopping I think," Reed replies, closing the door to the room.

They were staying in a penthouse with many different rooms with beds in them.
