"I can't believe it." I murmured under my breath as I looked into the room I'd just moved into a few days ago.
Why? Why would Zayn do this?
"Zayn!" I yelled, unable to be quiet about this. "I can't believe you!"
Zayn looked over at from his spot on his bed and gave me a sheepish look. "I thought I could maybe keep this from you."
"How the bloody hell was that supposed to happen?" I exclaimed, waving my arms toward the- the organism sleeping next to him.
Zayn sighed. "I don't know. I'm sorry, okay? I can get rid of-"
"No! Don't do that. I just-" I took a breath. "I'm shocked is all."
"You aren't mad?" He asked with a newly plastered smile on his face.
"How could I be? She's cute." I cooed, coming closer to the bed.
"He, actually." Zayn corrected me.
"Is he for me?" I asked him, hoping he'd say yes.
"He's for us." He replied. Us. The way he said US melted my heart. I knew he didn't mean it in the way I wished he'd meant it. I knew he didn't mean us in a lovey dovey way. But I could look past it.
I ran over to his side of the bed and attacked him with a massive hug and kiss on the cheek. "Thank you so much!"
Zayn chuckled. "It's no problem. I've always wanted a puppy." I reached over and picked the small dog up in my arms, waking him up.
He was gorgeous. He was very small, with light golden fur, droopy ears, a cute little nose, and closed eyes. I'd always wanted a dog too, but my parents refused to have an animal in the house.
Ladies and gentlemen, the cold hearted animal hating souls that kicked their own daughter out.
"He's precious." I cooed.
"That's why I got him in the first place." Zayn smiled at me. "You know, you already look like a good mother. The way you hold him, it's like you've got a natural instinct."
"Thanks." I beamed at him, absolutely thrilled by the fact that we had a new puppy. And he was ours. "What's his name?"
"I decided I'd wait to decide with you." He shrugged.
"Okay...umm.. Give me ideas and I'll say yes or no."
"Tim?"
"No!" I giggled.
"Ralph."
"Absolutely not."
"Tony."
"Okay, you're bad at this." I huffed.
"Why don't you pick then? I'm fine with anything." Zayn replied, not looking offended at all by my reaction to his terrible dog names.
"How about Alfie?" I suggested, looking at the baby golden retriever in my arms.
"That's good. Fits him well. Hello Alfie." Zayn petted him gently with a pleased look on his cute face.
"Wait, I thought you guys were going to a club?" I realized.
"I wasn't in the mood, I didn't want to dance or drink, so I decided to walk around instead and catch a cab home. Before I knew it I was at the pet shop buying their newest puppy. They said he's not going to be small for long at all." He explained, making cute expressions as he talked.
"Wow. Dj Malik has changed his ways. From getting girls while he's drunk at Funky Buddha to getting puppy's while being sensitive at the Pet Shop. My my how you've grown."
"Guess you could say that." He grinned at me.
"I can't believe it. I'm so excited. Do the boys know?"
"Yeah, I called to make sure it was alright." Zayn shrugged. "Isn't that right Alfie?" The dog's droopy little eyes looked up at Zayn briefly before he fell back asleep in my arms. He was so cute!
"Is he potty trained?" I asked, scrunching my nose up.
"Don't worry about that. I'll take care of it." He waved me off.
"Okay because I have a sensitive stomach and I vomit very easily." I warned him.
He laughed and motioned for me to come next to him on OUR bed.
"Everyone's going to have a hangover today." I giggled, readjusting Alfie's position so he was laying on my chest as I laid next to Zayn, slightly leaning against his body.
"That means we have the day all to ourselves." He replied.
"Right-O Mr. Malik."
"Wanna chill with our new pup today?" I asked, sticking my bottom lip out to plead with him.
"Sure. We also need to make sure everyone upstairs has some aspirin ." Zayn chuckled. "How have you been feeling this morning?"
"I was sick earlier this morning, but I had a shower so I'm alright." I averted my eyes to the sleepy puppy rested on my chest.
"Babe, go get dressed. I can hold him." He insisted, making my stomach churn in the best way. This happened every single time he called me babe. Every time. I felt special.
"Okay." I handed the puppy to Zayn and crawled off of the bed, feeling heavy with my arguably massive baby bump. "God this boy is going to be huge."
"He can be an American football player then."
"Better than a singer in a boyband." I teased, sticking my tongue out.
Zayn chuckled as I grabbed my clothes and walked off to the bathroom so I could change out of my robe. How embarrassing.
It sounds weird, but I felt like we were a family. Zayn, Alfie, my baby boy, and me. Just the four of us.
Only problem was that I needed Zayn to actually like me as more than a friend.
A/N:Short chapter! Sorry, but at least I answered your cliff hanger questions!
I was originally going to have it be a girl in bed with him, but I found that it was too predictable. Plus, I want this to be a mostly happy story! Tell me what you thought of this chapter!
