Whenever I think about or someone mentions Liam, all that comes to mind is a puppy. Someone who is incredibly sweet, caring, nice, a true gentleman that would never hurt a fly. I’m also sure that if I were to tell this to the fans, they would all agree with every word.
Right now, all I can think about is how much of a scary man he looks. Never before have I seen this side of Liam where his veins are nearly popping out of his neck, his hands are curled into white fists, his eyes are narrowed and his mouth is in a completely straight line. When he punches Niall in the stomach, I don’t know what to think. He went from cute little puppy to full-grown Rottweiler in just a matter of seconds and it truly scared me, so I screamed. It was a natural reaction that thankfully got both of the boy’s attention. Sadly it was only for a couple seconds because they both turned to look back at each other.
“What was that for, mate?” Niall said, his hands still clenching his bare stomach.
“I’m pretty sure you know what that was for.” Liam replied with sternness in his voice.
Niall narrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he stared at Liam and then back at me. His eyes were trying to connect the puzzles until finally they widened, indicating that he knew what was going on.
“You told him?” He asked. His tone did not sound angry, just slightly surprised. I didn’t even have to answer because Liam interrupted whatever I was about to say, which wasn’t much.
“You selfish bastard.” Liam added to his argument.
“Liam, this has nothing to do with you.” Niall replied back, his hand lowering from his abdomen.
“Of course it does. Claire is my friend and you think I’m just going to let you use her for your benefits because she cares for you too much to say no?” Liam retorted. At this point I was helpless, afraid that if I say something I might make the fight worse so I just stood there, a big knot forming on the base of my throat.
“We are not children, we’re adults and we choose what we do with our lives.” Niall continued. By now, Liam’s anger seemed to be subsiding but not fully there.
“You’re right, it’s not my place to say what you do or who you do.” Liam said. If he was trying to make those last words sound like a joke, he failed.
Niall nodded.
Liam’s chest was moving normally again, his fists were the color of his skin as blood was finally able to pump freely through them.
“Claire, what do you have to say about all of this?” Liam tried to pass the attention to me but all I wanted to do was bury myself deep in the ground and never come out.
“I uhm, I-I” The words were not processing clearly through my head so they were coming out in non-understandable words.
“She’s clearly okay with it. I mean, it’s not like I forced her into sleeping with me. We both had a mutual understanding Liam, I don’t know why you are over reacting.” Niall spoke for me. Well, it’s not the exact words I would have used to explain my side of the story but I let it slide. I was not about to say that I was okay with it because I was in love with the Irish boy and his happiness was more important to me than anything in the world. Instead, I nodded my head in approval.
Liam sighed.
“I just don’t want either of you to get hurt.”
“We won’t.” Niall quickly replied back.
I walked forward, leaving my small hiding spot behind Liam and headed for the bed. The boys followed my movement with their eyes and they too proceeded to leave their tense poses to come sit with me. They had to move a couple clothes Niall had sprawled across the bed but they quickly took a seat next to either side of me.
