My seat number was 20B. I desperately wanted a window seat, but it seems like I am never lucky on that basis. I loved to watch the lights of the city from above, the glittering of the lights soothed me every time.

Of course, my dad had offered to book business class, but I disagreed. I had seen him work hard to reach the position he's currently in ,from a small businessman to millionaire entrepreneur and I was proud of him, but at the same time, I didn't want to spend his money unnecessarily and I so desperately wanted to be independent.

When I finally reached my seat after a really long time, I was disappointed to find the window seat already occupied.

𝘖𝘧𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘖𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘢... 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵.

"Excuse me" the man turned towards me and 𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘯 I had to say the man was handsome, right from his tan skin to his black hair and pink lips.
𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵..𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨.
I stopped right there. After all a girl has to dream.

"Um.. Would you mind if I have the window seat? "
"Oh not at all, you can have it. " He moved and I got in.

"So you're from Spain?" He asked.
"Yes.. You?.. You aren't from here are you? "
"Nope I'm from India."
"Ooh nice.. the land of cultures."
"Yes diverse culture." He chuckled.
"I'm Adam by the way. Nice to meet you.... "
"Olivia.. Nice to meet you too. "

And he was my first ever friend I had made in New York. He was headed to New York regarding a business, no wonder he's in a business suit. He said he will be there for the next 2 years, and that relieved me. Finally, I had someone I know to help me there.

I reached the 'centre of the universe' after 8 long hours.

I hailed a taxi and as I was getting in, I saw Adam rushing towards me.

"Olivia, here's my card. I know you're new here and you're definitely gonna need help... So don't hesitate to call"

"Thanks" I smiled. "See you." I waved.
He nodded and got into a black SUV.
