"Reece..do you have to go?" George grabbed his hand, clutching it tight as he made his way to the door, hesitant to step outside of it.

He didn't want to face the demons on the other side, to leave the safe net that was these four walls. He didn't want to leave George alone, worried about him every moment he stepped further away. But he had to, this was his life. And as much as he detested it- he couldn't just back away like a coward. He wasn't conditioned to run away from his problems, no matter how much he dreamed of it.

"Aw Georgie, you know I have to go. I don't want to, but I promise, it won't be for long." George simply nodded, somber expression on his face that he scowled at. He shouldn't be so miserable when reece was around, it was basically his one job. To keep George happy. And he didn't want to fail at that too.

"Ok..w-when will you come back? Not that I'm being clingy- I was just wondering-"

"George, you're rambling again. I'll be back soon but I'll call you, ok?" George looked up at him, eyes a little teary as he nodded for the 100th time this day. Reece's heart broke, suspecting that the boy was too emotional to trust his mouth to speak. He could understand that, and it made it all that more crushing. He was already causing him misery, but it was conflicting in his mind. Was he only causing George sadness when he left, because he made him even a little happy when he was here?

The thoughts was hard to believe, but he wanted to trust his mind on this particular thing. He really, really wanted to trust his mind, even after the misery it caused him more time's than not.

"Ok.." George's face scrunched up a little and he barely had react before he threw himself into reeces arms, smuggling into his side as he clutched him with a tight grip. He felt his heart swell in his chest, wrapping his arms equally as tight over the smaller boy, letting his hand brush gently through his blond mop of hair that was fluffed around in all directions.

It was like he didn't want to let him go, both physically and metaphorically. When he let his grip on him loosen, it would remind him that he was letting him leave, out into the dangerous world that George had only become acquainted with recently.

Once he walked out of that door, he wasn't George's boyfriend. He was just Reece Bibby, cold and calice with no joy in his life, no one could know any different.

George pulled back slowly, sniffling quietly despite the fact that there were no tears leaking out of his eyes, thankfully. If there was, he doesn't think he would have the strength to walk out that door. He still doubts if he has it now, but there's only one way to find out.

"You'll be safe, won't you? A-and you'll call me as soon as you can?"

"Of course I will, don't I always?" He smiled playfully, rubbing George's shoulder as they both pulled back fully.

Before he could pull back far enough, George had gently pecked his lips against his own and he hummed in pleasure, expecting a passionate kiss to ensure. But it didn't. Instead, George simply pecked his lips innocently before pulling back, a devilish smile playing on the corners of his lips as he giggled.

"Georgie that's not fair! Don't I get more than that before I go?" he whined like a child, expanding the vowels to emphasise his displeasure at such an evil act.

"Nope. Not until you come back to me, then I'll consider it."

He huffed, trying to suppress the smile on his lips as he crossed his arms dramatically, glaring playfully at the gleeful boy ahead of him, blinking innocently at him.
