"Have you ever heard of the children with colored blood?" Blair asked.

"No, I haven't." Said Miles.

"I will tell you about it."

"A long time ago... There were five siblings, three girls, two boys. They wanted power. They wanted to be able to survive wars, even if they fought alone against an entire army. So, they went to the forest every day and asked nature to give them what they wanted. They cut their hands and painted the land red."

"I don't get it." Said Miles.

"SHHH! Let me continue the story, Miles!" Said Blair with an angry face.

"Nature owed them nothing. But she heard what they asked for, and said: 'I don't owe you power, and you don't deserve what you ask for. But if you want, I will give you an agreement. Tell me exactly what you want and I will give you what I think you deserve.'"

"The older sister took a step forward, 'I ask you to give me the water and the power to control it, drown my enemies and win wars!' She said. Nature didn't take long to respond. 'I will give you the power of water, to control it and, with your voice, to attract enemies into the water and drown them. But you will be a prisoner of the oceans, every time you drown someone, you will lose a year of life on earth. You will be the one with blue blood.' When the silence came, the hand of the first sister started to bleed an indigo blue."

"The younger brother took a step forward and said: 'I ask you the power of the moon and the creatures of the forest, give me their strength and speed, as well as their ferocity!' Nature gave a howl and replied 'I will give you strength and speed, fangs and claws and fast healing. But you will be a prisoner of the moon, you will do whatever she says, locked in the body of a wolf once a month, and wounded by silver. So that you never forget the silver glow of the moon. You will be the one with golden blood.' When the silence came again, the brother's eyes flashed gold, the same color as the blood that fell from his injured hand. That was already healing itself."

"The older brother also took a step forward 'I want the speed and grace of the creatures of the night, I want strength and superiority. I want the power of the gods and the forest. I want eternity of beauty and youth. I want control over life.' He said. Nature laughed 'You are the one that asks more, and the one who deserves less. I will give you the strength of ten men, the speed of lightning and the power of healing not just yourself but others. But you asked me for control over life. I will not give you control or life. You will live an eternity lived in half, you will be banished by the sun, controlled by the blood. I offer you a life of death and destruction. You ask me for the power of the gods but I give you a weakness, so that your skin burs every time that you touch something that belongs to what is sacred and believed by someone. You asked me for the power of the forest, but you will die if you receive a wooden stake in the heart. You will be the one with black blood. So that you never forget that the darkness is where you belong.' With that, the brother's hand healed, leaving only a trace of black blood on the surface."

"This story is creepy" Miles said.

"Shut up Miles! YOU ARE INTERRUPTING ME!" Said the girl putting her hair behind her ear.

"The second sister took a step forward, 'I want the power of the universe, of greatness. I want to have extraordinary and infinite powers. I want to read minds and destroy armies in a snap.' Nature replied 'I will give you everything you ask for, but the power of construction and destruction can also be self-destructive, if you don't pay attention to what I say, you will be taken by power, trapped in your own body, sharing the mind with the voices of every soul in the world. You will be your own prisoner. The one with purple blood.' Nature finished talking and drops of violet blood hit the floor."

"The last sister and the youngest of all took a step forward, joining her other siblings. 'I'm not willing to pay the price you offer. But I ask for something that is convenient for you. I want something that prevents destruction, I want something that will make a war end. to prevent the world from ending.' Nature made a sound that showed interest. 'I'm going to give you a weapon, an arrow that fits only in your bow' the girl looked at the bow she had placed on the floor beside her. 'If the arrow is shot in the middle of a war, all soldiers will stop fighting. And those who started the war will be forced to solve problems in a civilized manner. If they try to break free from the spell, the heads of the war will die, and take the thirsty for destruction with them. But be careful! The arrow can only be used once.' When the silence was established, an arrow fell from the sky, an arrow completely silver. The hand of the girl didn't heal and her bright red blood continued to drip onto the floor."

"'Why did you give us what we want?' The last sister talked again. 'Why did you give us these blessings?' Nature laughed and asked. 'Are you sure I gave you blessings and not curses?' The siblings looked in each other's eyes. 'And why do you answer our call but not the calls of every person in the world who calls your name?' asked the first sister.

"I answered you because I was tired of your red blood staining my lands. At least now you will dye my lands with bright colors. Goodbye, my children with colored blood.' Said the Nature, and left the night with the silence of the forest."

"So, this story is about supernatural creatures?'' Asked Miles.

"It's about how they were created.'' Answered Blair, rising from the bed, turning off the lights and going through the door until she disappeared into the darkness of the hallway. Leaving Miles alone.
