Jennie's pov:
I'm at home working on my homework when my parents come into the house. "Hi sweetie, so i know this is on short notice but you're gonna stay with the huang's for a few hours. Your father has a last minute meeting, and there's this property that-" i cut my mom off. "Woah mom, it's alright. I don't mind staying with them for a few hours." she sighs in relief. "Thank goodness, you're gonna stay for dinner. Me and your mom have to head out right now, you can work on your homework with emery. Make sure you lock the door before you leave. Okay, love you bye!" they yell as they close the door.I gather all my homework up in my backpack and walk next door. Evan opens the door smiling "hi jennie, mom told us you'd be staying for a few hours. Come on in, we're about to show mom our report cards." he tells me as i walk in removing my shoes. "Evan come on lets go show mom! Oh hi jennie." emery says waving at me smiling, i wave back and smile. Mrs. huang walks in and both boys walk up to her "Mom! We got our report cards." emery tells her while him and evan are holding up their "report cards." It's basically a sheet of paper filled with stickers. Mine was the same except i had no idea what any of them were. Mrs. huang grabs the paper from her two kids hands, confusion written all over her face.
"What is this?" "Our school doesn't give out grades." "It fosters unhealthy competition." evan and emery tell their mother. Mrs. huang looks up to see me and immediately sighs "oh thank goodness you're here jennie. Do you know what any of these mean?" she motions to the bright stickers on the pieces of paper. I shrug my shoulders "i'm gonna go out on a hunch and guess they did good." i tell her almost as confused as her. "Two clouds that seems bad." anger yet confusion drips off her words as i set down my back pack in the living room continuing my home work. "Clouds are good." "Clouds are rain. What are you a farmer?"
Soon grandma huang comes into the living room with, a stereo in her hand.? She presses play and eddie comes from behind holding a piece of paper, then walks all around the living room holding it up. "Domino's! Straight A's mom! One good thing about moving here, i have no friends and no distractions."
Mrs.huang looks like she's just seen a corpse kissing a dog. I get up and walk to her slowly "Mrs. huang? Are you feeling okay, you've turned almost pale." i tell her fanning her. She shakes her head no and walks away still looking at the paper. "What was that all about?" i ask the boys, and emery answers. "I think mom thinks there's something wrong with the grading system, one time she looked like that when i got a B. Turns our it was meant to be an A." he explains to me. I nod slowly. "Well i'm gonna finish my homework, wanna work on it together?" i ask emery, who nods his head with a smile.

Emery's pov:
Dinner finished and jennie went home. I walk into my shared room with evan as both my brothers walk in too. "So spill, what's up with you and jennie? You dating her?" eddie cuts straight to the chase, while i look at him with a bit of surprise. "W-what are you talking about eddie?" i ask him genuinely confused.Evan talks this time sitting on his bottom bunk with eddie, while i'm sitting on the floor. "Oh come on emery, we know you like her. It's obvious." evan says putting his hand into his face, while his arms are resting on his knees. "I don't like jennie, she's just a friend. Besides we met a few weeks ago." i tell them, but they don't look convinced.
"Sureeeeeee emery. Tell yourself that, when you're ready to talk you know where to find me." eddie says patting my shoulder walking to his room. Evan lays back on his bed, while i lay back on the floor looking up at the ceiling. Jennie's just a friend, i kept repeating that to myself until i fell asleep.

Jennie's pov:
Mom and dad are out again so i'm heading to the huang's as we speak. I knock on the door and hear Mrs. huang ask who it was, and i told her it was me. She opened the door with almost a sickening smile, holding a knife and a part cut apple in her hand. In the back i hear eddie yell "Jennie! Get out while you can! She's crazy!"
