The next few days passed quickly for me. I fished, upgraded my clothing, (With cloth) and made new tools. I went fishing with my spear and caught several fish, giving me food for several days. I saw many things wandering down my beach over the last few days. Dodos, raptors, trilobites, and I even saw a pteranodon yesterday.
Flashback
I was resting sleepily in my tree, when I heard the beating of wings. I sat up quickly and looked around, and to my surprise, a green pteranodon landed nearby. I quietly jumped down onto the sand, creeping towards it. Would it attack me? Only one way to find out! I was about 6 feet away from it when suddenly it threw up its wings and shrieked. I jumped and the pteranodon flew quickly away.
So from that experience, I knew that pteranodons were not aggressive, for the most part. Anyways, today I had a plan. I wanted to build a shelter, but not here. There wasn't enough resources to keep me alive for too long, and I needed someplace to live. So, enable to do that, I had to brave the jungle. Dying was a big possibility, but if I was going to progress any, I needed to take some risks. Also there was a question that had been nagging me since I got here... where there any other people here? I hadn't seen any signs of any. But if there were, then maybe they could help me?
I started packing. I didn't have much, just a few weapons and some cooked fish and berries for food. I made some simple cloth shoes to protect my feet and put everything else in a sort of backpack. Then, I picked up my spear and set off into the jungle. As soon as I entered all I could here was the chirps of bugs and birds. This place was probably infested with raptors, so I needed to be extra careful.
After about an hour of walking I entered a small clearing. I was about to sit down and rest when suddenly a shiver went through me and the hairs on the back of my neck stood straight up. Someone, or something, was watching. I picked up my spear, and turned in a slow circle, surveying the woods around me. Then I saw something glint, ever so slightly, and I knew immediately what it was. I let out a scream as the raptor jumped on top of me, and everything went black.
I woke up and saw darkness. Was I dead? There was a heavy weight on me, and I couldn't move. I took a minute to wiggle my arms, legs, and toes. Ok, if I could do that, I wasn't dead. But what was this thing on top of me? I pushed hard and it fell off, and I jumped up in surprise when teeth grazed my face. It was a raptor. A dead one. It was covered in blood and my spear was going right through it's throat. I didn't remember killing it. I thought hard, and then the memories came back to me. As it had jumped, I held my spear in front of me, so it mush have landed neck-first onto my spearhead. With a hint of pride, I realized that this was my first kill, other than some dodos and fish. I skinned the raptor of its hide and moved on. If I had to guess, scavengers would be here any minute, and I didn't want to get caught up in that. And so, taking one last glance at the dead raptor, I moved on.
