Max didn't hear it at first because he was under water. So when he came up and saw Jess staring toward the door, he could only figured what she could be looking at.
"Doorbell?" He asked, breaking her out if her trance.
She only nodded before climbing out of the pool and wrapping herself up in a towel. Max was worried she was going to answer the door like that but was relieved when she went up the stairs instead.
So he got out of the pool and wrapped a towel around himself before heading to the door. He smiled at his friends as he opened the door and immediately got bombarded by questions.
"Ooh were you doing the deed already?" Ross asked. He got smacked by Jin.
"No he was clearly swimming you pain in the ass" Sky scolded him.
Max just laughed. "I'm gonna go get changed you know where the living room is." And with that he embarked up the stairs to his room.
He smiled to himself at his friends antics, then blushed lightly as he thought of what Ross had said.
He shook his head though, clearing the thoughts from his mind. He needed to get changed. So he did.
After exiting his room, he walked down the hall to his new roommate's door and knocked gently. He waited for the say so to come in.
What he saw when he entered was Jess on her bed, changed and hair dried, looking very nice. And holding a photo.
Max set down next to her and looked over her shoulder at the photo. It was two small children, around five or six. Both were smiling widely and had big amber eyes and black hair.
They both seemed strikingly familiar.
Jess started talking suddenly.
"His name is Jin. He was adopted away from me when we were little. I haven't seen or heard from him since." She smiled solemnly.
Max was shocked. There's no way that they're the same Jin, right?
Of course his mouth opened before he could make up his mind.
"I know someone named Jin, actually," he said,"and he looks a lot like the kid in your picture there. Come on down and let's find out maybe?"
At that Jess looked up excitedly, she jumped up and grabbed Max's hand and pulled him to the door chanting let's go over and over.
Max couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was.
She just poured and kept pulling at his hand. It was obvious to Max then that she definitely didn't want to go down without him.
So he got up and followed after her, once they reached the stairwell though, Jess grabbed his arm and moved behind him.
Max mentally awed at that. She was too adorable sometimes.
As they made their way downstairs, the guys hushed at the sight of the small hands wrapped around Max's bicep.
That's because that's all they could see of the small girl hiding herself behind the ginger.
Max cleared his throat. "Guys, this is Jess. Jess this is Jin, Ross, Adam and Barney."
At her name, Jess slowly peaked her head around Max and waved. Max watched her with a small smile and watched the guys.
Jin didn't wave like the others did. He just stared. And Jess stared back. There was a long silence before he got up and slowly walked over to her.
When he made it to her, Max slowly moved out of the way since he was the only thing between the two siblings.
"J-Jess? Is it actually you?" He asked quietly, slowly reaching for the small girl.
Jess just looked amazed. "Jinuyasha... Its been so long..." And at the name, the biggest smile anyone had seen on Jin's face broke out and he gathered the small girl into his arms.
From what Max could make out, there seemed to be a lot of tears at the joyful reunion.
Though of course they were only by Jin and Jess.
Ross soon cleared his throat, and the other three turned to look at them.
"So what's happening here?" Ross asked curiously. Jin just smiled and hugged his sister.
"She's my sister. I haven't seen her in fifteen years." Jin replied. Then he looked at Max. "Thank you. I really appreciate this."
Max just nodded and took a seat on the sofa. Jin and Jess quickly did the same, Jess sitting next to her brother naturally.
"So who wants to play a game?" Adam offered. Everyone shrugged in agreement.
"What's game?" Barney asked.
Adam thought for a second, "Truth or dare?" Everyone nodded, then Adam looked at Jess."You wanna play? Its ok if you don't. It can get pretty intense."
Jess just nodded." It's ok. I don't mind." Adam nodded.
"So who wants to go first?"
