Counting

DAY 1 pt.3

"Are you okay now?" Alister asked.

I took a small sniffle and wiped my face. "Yeah, I guess."

"Good. I guess I'll have to go now."

"What? Already?"

"I'm sorry, but your father and I agreed that I only stay to help them if they couldn't make you feel better, then leave afterwards. It was just so I could still pay a visit, but only for that reason."

"Oh. Oh..."

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright. I understand. I' just glad that I get to still have you home."

"Heh. Mhm." She sat up. "I should get going now. Text me, 'kay?" She winked and left. From outside, I hear her say a few things to my parents. I'm betting it's just to say she's about to take a leave.

After so, my parents came back in my room. Great.

"We're glad you're finally okay." Mom said. "I'll be cooking dinner now. Come down anytime after 6:30. Call us when you need us. C'mon, Lloyd." And they both left.

As they turn around to leave my room, I could see dark dripping wings from behind their back, and their feet left dark foot prints. I shuddered. And when they're out, I went and locked my dokr right away. I also sweeped the floor just in case, though they often disappear like dust.

I'm starting to see things again.

I don't know, but I just thought that maybe it'd be a good idea to talk to Alister? So I jumped my way to my phone but before I could even get a hold of it, it fell into a small dark hole which disappeared right away. What can I do now?

I started covering my ears tightly by my palms as I was starting to hear voices. Voices of which sounded like someone with a dark god-like voice chanting. But only repeating a single sentence. "Fuck you and your everything, you useless piece of shit". And whatever I could do, no matter how tightly I enclose my ears with my hands, these voices isn't getting any less audible.

Everything else I could see is disappearing into a void. And eyes. More and more eyes are showing up before me. Staring at me as if they could see right through me.

But then everything went quiet. Not practically, but those sights changed back to normal.

Yet there was something pulling me off. Those voices. I can hear myself saying it. "Fuck you and your everything, you useless piece of shit". What is happening to me?

I can feel my phone pressed on my ear and Alister shouting.

[[Garnet!? Garnet!? Garnet!!! Wake up! Please! Garnet!!!]]

And I stopped chanting that messed up sentence.

[[Garnet?]] Alister toned down her voice

"A-Alister?" I responded. I am trembling heavily.

[[What happened?]]

"What happened?"

[[I don't know.]]

"Me too."

[[What was in your head?]]

"I don't... Know..."

[[Oh. Why'd you call?]]

"I..." And I don't know why, but I just hang up. My head went completely blank.

Without anything in my head, I just went out my room then downstairs, prepared myself for dinner. I was sure my parents were trying to tell me something or things, but it was too hard to think what.
