I got so many comments telling me I should do an epilogue, so I decided to write one! Thank you all for your support.
CANDACE
Rocusa's army of rogues couldn't attack my pack after they made the vow.
I had saved my pack and myself.
No words could describe the satisfaction I felt when I saw everyone retreat to the pack house unharmed.
Liam had explained everything to me, clearing that it wasn't his fault (the Penelope thing).
I hadn't completely forgiven him, for what he had said to me. "Learn your place," he had said.
I did learn my place in those few days. My place was to protect the wolves in my pack. My place was to protect my child.
Liam had been trying to make me forgive him. He had been trying hard, but I couldn't forgive him until I figured out what drove him to say that to me.
I couldn't help but think that he didn't find me fit to stand beside him as Luna.
I didn't want to overthink, though.
My previous life as Candace had taught me that life was too short not to forgive and move on.
I could forgive Liam.
And I did.
I had our baby three weeks later, and we lived as a happy family.
We had a proper wedding in Manchester with both of our families.
Life couldn't be perfect, but moments could.
And we cherished every perfect moment we had, until rogues broke into our territory one day.
No pack member was harmed by them, it was almost like they just tore in to scare us, it went kind of like this.
"ROGUES!"
And right at that moment everyone stopped what they were doing and started protecting all the young ones of the pack, while the fighters tried to kill every rogue in sight.
Everyone defended each other, but the rogues didn't seem like they wanted to harm anyone.
They destroyed furniture on lawns, knocked down trees and growled threateningly, but didn't attack.
Confused by this, the fighters took more caution of these wild wolves and concentrated all their attention towards them.
An obvious strategy, this was.
Put together with quite brilliance, if you ask me. Brilliance that would lead to the most devastating effect on the pack.
While everyone feared the rogues' next moves, and weren't paying attention to the pack house, an anonymous visitor was lurking around.
The visitor had silently crept into Alpha Liam and Luna Candace's room, and stolen something of great importance to them.
When the rogues' abruptly retreated back into woods, everyone was left scared and confused without an answer.
But when Liam and Candace returned to their room to check on their sleeping baby boy, they had the shock of their lives.
Using the rogues as a distraction for Candace and Liam to leave everything behind and look after the safety of their pack, and the pack focused on the rogues, someone had kidnapped the most important infant of the pack.
The Alpha's son had been taken.
